We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Ballarat and Tamworth.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.

Race 1. (13:00) Publicans Day Maiden (1200m)
#9 – Water Bomber @ $2.30 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Water Bomber started his career against some smart types and the two-year-old should find this much easier.
The son of Headwater ran behind Brereton on debut at Flemington before going close at Sandown and Pakenham in two subsequent starts.
He won’t get a better chance to break maidens.
Race 3. (14:00) Global Turf Maiden (1500m)
#12 – Wine I Am @ $2.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Wine I Am is getting close to breaking through after placing at her last two starts at Sale and Ballarat.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old finished under a length behind the winner last start and a repeat of that effort takes her close.
She gets a strong rider in the saddle and that helps.
Race 5. (15:00) Porter Plant BM58 (1400m)
#2 – Ronay @ $4.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Ronay is an eight-time winner who is running well enough to add another victory to her record.
The Patrick Payne-trained runner owns all eight wins at Ballarat and that record is tough to overlook, especially at this level.
Punters get odds worth taking.
Race 8. (16:30) Hygain Winners Choice BM64 (1000m)
#7 – Red Hawk @ $2.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Red Hawk won on debut at Ballarat by six lengths before struggling when resuming from a spell at Flemington.
The three-year-old son of Deep Field didn’t live up to his $2.10 odds but has since spelled and returned with two jumpout wins.
His best form could be produced on Friday.
Race 1. (12:15) Thank You Helifarmers Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Montari @ $2.15 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Montari is getting close to a win after posting four placings from six starts and this race is there for the taking.
The three-year-old son of Shalaa is fresh up having not raced since November last year, but he should hit the ground running.
It could pay to watch for late betting moves.
Race 3. (13:25) Tamworth Carpet One BM66 (1600m)
#1 – Scorched Land @ $3.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Scorched Land has scorched punters’ money this season but we’re sticking with the four-year-old son of Sizzling.
He flashed home to finish second at Taree last time out and he was a touch unlucky not to win, so we’re keeping the faith.
Getting 3kg off his back helps and he could finish strongly again.
Race 4. (14:05) In Memory of Patron C1 (1600m)
#10 – Mirror Queen @ $3.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Mirror Queen won on debut at Beaumont by 3.3 lengths and we’re banking that she gets back to that level of form.
Her subsequent starts were only fair at Tamworth and Newcastle, but a slight improvement in track conditions could work wonders.
She wants it dry, so watch the updated conditions.
Race 6. (15:20) Graymont Showcase Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Cecilia @ $4.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
The five-year-old mare scored a win two back at Port Macquarie by 1.5 lengths and her fresh up form reads well.
She opened at $5 and has firmed into $4.20, which is a sign of stable money coming for her and she has the stats to back it up.
Her four wins over the distance bode well and punters still get each-way odds.
