Ballarat

Race 1. (13:00) Whitford Liquid Waste Maiden (1000m)

#7 – Mogulist @ $2 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Mogulist is getting close to a win after back-to-back placings and this field is there for the taking.

The two-year-old son of Capitalist ran third at Ballarat following a tough debut at Caulfield, before running third at Swan Hill.

He’s in good hands and the odds-on quote isn’t surprising.

Race 3. (14:00) Global Turf Maiden (1200m)

#7 – The Exchange @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The Hayes-trained three-year-old didn’t fire on debut at Benalla as a $5 chance but he pulled up with a problem.

However, his recent trial win at Tatura is a good sign and that’s why he has attracted plenty of betting support on race day.

Barrier three is ideal and it won’t take him long to score a breakthrough win.

Race 4. (14:30) Polytrack Maiden Plate (2100m)

#11 – Nicstar @ $2.40 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Nicstar has five starts for five placings and she’s another runner that won’t take long to score her first win.

The three-year-old daughter of Zoustar comes off a second placing at Pakenham and she relished the rise in distance.

Drawing barrier two helps and there should be strong money come for her on race day.

Race 7. (16:00) Sportsbet Bet with Mates BM58 (1200m)

#2 – Rose Tycoon @ $2.45 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Coming off a win at Ballarat is Rose Tycoon, who scored by three lengths in dominant fashion.

The four-year-old mare by Written Tycoon was the $1.35 favourite to exit maiden grades and she did it with ease, so she’s worth following.

Getting 2kg off the big weight helps and her odds could shorten.

Taree

Race 2. (12:15) Saxbys Soft Drink Maiden (1614m)

#6 – Silentdeel @ $3 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Silentdeel ran third on debut at Gunnedah before finishing eighth at Gosford last time out, but he should find this more to his liking.

The three-year-old son of Dundeel was 7.6 lengths behind the winner at Gosford but not everything went his way and there has been more betting support this time around.

It’s not much of a field to beat and he can take advantage.

Race 5. (14:05) Kennards Hire Taree Maiden (1257m)

#9 – Madiba Rose @ $2.25 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Madiba Rose is nearing a maiden win after posting four placings from six starts and we fancy her chances on Tuesday.

The three-year-old filly by Epaulette gets all favours off the inside draw with a 3kg appentice in the saddle, so we’re not surprised by the firming odds.

She opened at $2.90 and is likely to push towards $2 on race day.

Race 7. (15:15) Johnson & Mongan BM58 (1007m)

#5 – Miss Kojiki @ $5.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Todd Howlett lines up the four-year-old mare who is rarely too far away from the prize with two wins and 11 placings.

The daughter of Real Impact has yet to miss a placing from six attempts in these conditions and she gets every chance in the run.

She deserves another win and punters get each-way odds worth snapping up.

Race 8. (15:55) Manning River Hotel BM58 (1412m)

#5 – Karaoke King @ $2.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Karaoke King didn’t show much early on but turned that around to win at Scone last time out.

The Matthew Smith-trained three-year-old was far too good for them when scoring by three lengths and getting the inside draw here is ideal.

It’s a harder field but he looks to have more upside than most.
