2021-22 A-League Week 13 Tips, Predictions & Betting Odds

There is a new leader at the top of the A-League table as Western United surged ahead of Melbourne Victory at the top of the pile. United along with Victory are sitting pretty at the top of the division, with the likes of Adelaide United, Macarthur and Melbourne City in hot pursuit. Sydney FC are a side looking like they are building up momentum, whilst Western Sydney Wanderers and Central Coast Mariners are two of the most dangerous sides in the division. Newcastle Jets continue to operate with just one win to their name this season and they will be hoping to see more points on the board quickly.

Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the A-League:

Newcastle Jets vs Brisbane Roar – McDonald Jones Stadium

Newcastle Jets ($2.28)

Brisbane Roar ($3.2)

Draw ($3.8)

Two sides slugging it out at the bottom of the A-League table face off as Newcastle Jets host Brisbane Roar. The Jets have only picked up one league win from their opening 6 games and they look to once again be embroiled in a wooden spoon battle. Brisbane Roar meanwhile picked up an excellent win over Western Sydney Wanderers last time out and looks to be slowly building momentum this term. For both sides, not losing is sure to be the priority this one – making the draw the most likely result at the McDonald Jones Stadium.

Betting tip: The match to finish as draw ($3.8) – Bet @ Sportsbet

1-1 Draw

Adelaide United vs Sydney FC – Hindmarsh Stadium

Adelaide United ($3.1)

Sydney FC ($2.3)

Draw ($3.65)

Adelaide United will be doing all they can to continue their recent upturn in form as they take on Sydney FC. Having benefitted from playing a few more games than most teams around them, United find themselves in 3rd place in the table with 14 points from 10 games played and they will be looking to climb the table steadily as the season progresses. Sydney FC meanwhile are a side that have enjoyed plenty of A-League success over the past few seasons but have got off to a slow start this campaign. They won well at Central Coast Mariners last time out though and they will be hoping that result is the catalyst moving forward this season. Sydney FC should well be confident heading into this one and subsequently look decent value to pick up all three points here.

Betting tip: Sydney FC to win the match ($2.3) – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sydney FC to win 2-1

Western Sydney Wanderers vs Western United – Bankstown Stadium

WSW ($2.3)

Western United ($3.3)

Draw ($3.5)

Table-topping Western United will be doing all they can to stay at the top of the pile as they take on Western Sydney Wanderers. WSW won well over Perth Glory last time out but their defeat to Brisbane Roar prior to that underlined the inconsistencies they are battling currently. They are a good side though, with plenty of experience and they will relish the challenge of facing Western United. It has been a superb start to the campaign for United, who have 16 points from their opening 9 games, and they look to be a genuine play-off candidate at least this season. This could be a very tight game and with neither side likely to wilt, a draw looks to be the most likely outcome.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5) – Bet @ Sportsbet

1-1 Draw

Wellington Phoenix vs Macarthur FC – Campbelltown Sports Stadium

Wellington Phoenix ($2.8)

Macarthur FC ($2.62)

Draw ($3.6)

Lowly Wellington Phoenix will be looking to put their COVID disruption behind them as they take on Macarthur FC. The yellows have been hamstrung by having to have plenty of their fixtures rearranged this term and not being able to play in their native New Zealand, but they are a plucky side that will be relishing this test. Macarthur meanwhile have started the season impressively and they look to be within a genuine shot of at least a play-off place come the end of the season. This should be a much tighter game than the league table suggests but Macarthur play some excellent attacking football and should pick up the points here.

Betting tip: Macarthur FC to win the match ($2.62) – Bet @ Sportsbet

Macarthur FC to win 2-1

Melbourne City vs Perth Glory – AAMI Park

Melbourne City ($1.5)

Perth Glory ($7.5)

Draw ($4.5)

Defending champions Melbourne City will be doing all they can to get their season up and running as they take on a struggling Perth Glory side. City have been heavily disrupted by COVID 19 this term but haven’t been able to hit the heights of last season and they will be desperate to put a run together, starting here against the Glory. Off-season signings haven’t had the impact many would have hoped at Perth Glory, and they have only managed two league wins so far. Richard Garcia has plenty of time to turn things around though and Glory should relish being the underdogs in this one. Melbourne City should be too strong here however and a home win looks to be on the cards.

Betting tip: Melbourne City to win the match ($1.50) – Bet @ Sportsbet

Melbourne City to win 2-0
