2021-22 A-League Week 24 Tips, Predictions & Betting Odds

Following Melbourne Victory’s big Derby Day win over Melbourne City last weekend, the A-League table has a very open look to it, with many teams still in the mix at the halfway stage. City do remain in control, but the chasing pack have plenty of games in hand and the likes of Western United and the aforementioned Victory will be looking to close the gap this weekend. Perth Glory remain the whipping boys at the bottom of the division, and they will be hoping for a turnaround in fortunes soon.

Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the A-League:

Macarthur FC vs Brisbane Roar – Campbelltown Sports Stadium

Macarthur FC ($2.26)

Brisbane Roar ($3.13)

Draw ($3.8)

Two sides looking to force their way into the top 6 picture as Macarthur FC welcome Brisbane Roar. Points have started to dry up for Macarthur in recent weeks, but they remain 7th, safe in the knowledge that a couple of good results will propel them up into the top half of the table. They welcome a Brisbane Roar side that sit 10th and are unbeaten in their last 3 games as they look to climb away from the bottom of the table. This should be a much better game than most people anticipate, and an entertaining draw should be on the cards.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.8) – Bet @ Neds

2-2 Draw

Western United vs Perth Glory – York Park

Western United ($1.38)

Perth Glory ($10)

Draw ($5.25)

High flying Western United take on lowly Perth Glory at York Park. United find themselves 2nd in the table but their defeat to Wellington Phoenix last time out could well check their progress moving forward. They do however have plenty of games in hand on Melbourne City and they know games such as these are key in terms of their aspirations. Perth Glory meanwhile sit well adrift at the bottom of the table and have lost their last 4 matches in a real barren spell. This could be tighter than the odds suggest but Western United should well prevail at home in this one.

Betting tip: Western United to win the match($1.38) – Bet @ Neds

Western United to win 2-0

Newcastle Jets vs Melbourne Victory – McDonald Jones Stadium

Newcastle Jets ($3.1)

Melbourne Victory ($2.38)

Draw ($3.65)

Two sides with differing aspirations meet in Newcastle as the Jets welcome Melbourne Victory. The Jets are currently sat in 9th position in the table and are in the mix for a play-off push if they can string some results together. Melbourne Victory meanwhile thumped cross-Melbourne rivals City before dropping points against Brisbane Roar, a metaphor for their inconsistencies this term. This should be a very good game, between two willing sides and a draw could well be on the cards.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.65) – Bet @ Neds

1-1 Draw

Wellington Phoenix vs Central Coast Mariners – Wellington Regional Stadium

Wellington Phoenix ($2.3)

Central Coast Mariners ($3.05)

Draw ($3.8)

Two sides very much in the play-off picture face off as Wellington Phoenix take on Central Coast Mariners. Phoenix have been steadily improving all season and currently reside in 5th following back to back wins in the league. They take on a Central Coast side who are sat in 8th position and their record of 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss from their last 5 games is representative of their inconsistencies this term. This should be the game of the round and with Wellington Phoenix now playing their games at home in New Zealand, they could well pick up a valuable win here.

Betting tip: Wellington Phoenix to win the match ($2.3) – Bet @ Neds

Wellington Phoenix to win 2-1
