2021-22 A-League Week 26 Tips, Predictions & Betting Odds

It is very much the business end of the A-League season and there is still plenty to play for ahead of the play-offs. Melbourne City remain the side to catch, with Western United and Melbourne Victory in hot pursuit, whilst a whole host of sides remain in top 6 contention. At the bottom of the pile, Perth Glory are all but done in their wooden spoon battle but they along with Brisbane Roar and Western Sydney Wanderers will be looking to put some late season points on the board.

Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the A-League:

Melbourne Victory vs Wellington Phoenix – AAMI Park

Melbourne Victory ($1.57)

Wellington Phoenix ($6.5)

Draw ($4.2)

Melbourne Victory will be looking to put pressure on the sides above them as they take on Wellington Phoenix. Victory have been in good form this term and currently sit 3rd in the A-League table and by playing first this game week, can sneak closer to Melbourne City and Western United with a win. They won’t have things all their own way though against a Wellington Phoenix side who are now 5th in the league and are very much pushing for the play-offs themselves. This should be a really good game, that will be closer than the odds suggest but Melbourne Victory should ultimately prevail.

Betting tip: Melbourne Victory to win the match ($1.57) Bet @ Neds

Melbourne Victory to win 2-1

Central Coast Mariners vs Western United – Central Coast Stadium

Central Coast Mariners ($2.38)

Western United ($3.1)

Draw ($3.6)

Central Coast Mariners take on Western United in what promises to be an important game for both clubs. The Mariners sit  6th and currently have their play-off position very much in their own hands. They have won their last two and will be confident when taking on Western United, a side that sit in 2nd and look to have genuine aspirations of winning the regular season title. There is very little to split these sides and it could well end up being a draw here at the Central Coast Stadium.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.6) Bet @ Neds

1-1 Draw

Adelaide United vs Brisbane Roar – Hindmarsh Stadium

Adelaide United ($2.3)

Brisbane Roar ($3.1)

Draw ($3.75)

4th placed Adelaide United will be looking to all-but clinch their play-off status as they take on Brisbane Roar. Three wins in a row have propelled United into a place where they could end up challenging for an A-League title. Brisbane Roar meanwhile sit 11th and they will be keen for his season to end and rebuild for next term. They are well clear of Perth Glory below them, which should give them a sense of freedom but Adelaide United should win well here.

Betting tip: Adelaide United to win the match ($2.3) Bet @ Neds

Adelaide United to win 2-0

Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers – nib Stadium

Perth Glory ($6)

WSW ($1.67)

Draw ($4)

Lowly Perth Glory take on Western Sydney Wanderers as they look to finish their season on a high. It has been a campaign to forget for Glory, who are using youth and development squad players for the remainder of the season, but a wooden spoon finish looks unavoidable. Western Sydney Wanderers meanwhile have huffed and puffed all season and find themselves struggling in 10th, themselves having largely had a season to forget. WSW haven’t been pulling up any trees of late, but they should pick up three solid points here.

Betting tip: Western Sydney Wanderers to win the match ($1.67) Bet @ Neds

WSW to win 3-0

Macarthur FC vs Newcastle Jets – Campbelltown Sports Stadium

Macarthur FC ($2.2)

Newcastle Jets ($3.3)

Draw ($3.7)

Two teams on the cusp of the play-offs meet as Macarthur FC take on the Newcastle Jets. Sat in 7th, Macarthur could end up in the top 6, which would represent an excellent showing in just their second full A-League campaign. In a similar vein, the Newcastle Jets could also sneak into the play-off picture, currently sat in 9th but they will need to show some drastic improvements should they sneak into the top 6. With 5 consecutive defeats, the Jets arrive here in horrible form, which makes Macarthur FC the strong favourites for this one.

Betting tip: Macarthur FC to win the match ($2.2) Bet @ Neds

Macarthur FC to win 2-1
