Coolmore Classic Form Guide & Tips

1. Krone ($18) Bet @ Sportsbet

Krone can never be discounted as she likes to pop up in the big races. She owns two wins from four attempts at Rosehill, so include in first-four selections.

2. Polly Grey ($34) Bet @ Sportsbet

Polly Grey loves to swim and she should get conditions to suit. She doesn’t have the same speed as some of these, but if it becomes a staying test, she’s right there.

Watch to see how the track is playing, and if it’s rough, include Polly Grey.

3. Vangelic ($20) Bet @ Sportsbet

Second-up form reads well and she has coped with heavy tracks in the past.

Drawing barrier 17 could make it awkward and given the weights, we’re prepared to leave her out of our selections.

4. Lighthouse (Best Each Way – $6) Bet @ Sportsbet

A quality American import who finished second behind Forbidden Love last start and being on the quick back-up is ideal.

She has placed in consecutive Group 1 races against top-level type, so the form checks out and she doesn’t mind the conditions.

$6 is a generous price for a quality mare.

5. Shout the Bar ($67) Bet @ Sportsbet

She isn’t running well enough to test them. She also struggles in the heavy conditions, so it’s best to wait for a betting opportunity.

6. Expat ($7) Bet @ Sportsbet

It’s tough to deny her winning form. She has won three of her last four starts and four from six at Rosehill.

The four-year-old got the better of a nice field last start, but this is a sizable rise in class. She goes into the mix for trifecta bets.

7. Wandabaa ($12) Bet @ Sportsbet

Wandabaa loves the wet and that’s her biggest asset for the Coolmore Classic. She owns two wins from three starts in the heavy, including a win at Newcastle last start.

She’s an eight-time winner overall and she goes into the mix for first-four calculations.

8. Hinged ($8) Bet @ Sportsbet

A gutsy winner at Randwick last start when holding off Startantes in a driving finish.

Unbeaten in heavy conditions and she should put herself in the race and look a winner at some stage.

9. Atishu (Best Roughie – $31) Bet @ Sportsbet

The former Kiwi has been mixing her form since arriving in Australia, but she doesn’t the sting out of the surface.

She gets in with a lovely weight of 52kg, and although she’s a risky bet, the $31 is too good to pass up.

11. Mirra Vision ($23) Bet @ Sportsbet

Mirra Vision is a touch short in the market considering her heavy track form. We priced her at around $35, so we can’t have her in selections.

12. Promise of Success ($7.50) Bet @ Sportsbet

She doesn’t know how to run a bad race and there was little wrong with her run behind Forbidden Love last start.

That form has since stacked up at Group 1 level and carrying 51kg is ideal.

She can’t be left out at the price.

14. Yes Baby Yes ($71) Bet @ Sportsbet

We don’t expect form out of Tasmania to stack up well enough. She’s at long odds and rightfully so.

15. Espiona (Best Bet – $3.30) Bet @ Sportsbet

Espiona hasn’t had everything go her way since arriving in Sydney, but she demands another chance.

The Waller-trained filly is classy at best and this race should map perfectly for her. Punters have climbed into the early odds and with good reason.

Take the $3.30 before the price drops.

17. Cap Estel ($126) Bet @ Sportsbet

Credit to her for winning impressively last start, but it came in Highway Handicap grade.

Not at this level.
