Tancred Stakes Form Guide & Tips

1. Think It Over (Best Each Way – $4.80) Bet @ Neds

Think It Over is better suited to racing in Sydney and the 11-time winner should be tough to beat.

He didn’t lose any admirers when running second in the Australian Cup and he could turn the tables on Duais.

The distance is a concern, but he should let down with a big run in the straight.

2. Spanish Mission ($4) Bet @ Neds

Slightly disappointing about his lack of winning form since arriving in Australia, but he always runs well.

The son of Noble Mission showed the pace last start and was run down late, but it was a brave enough effort.

He has been solidly-backed to score.

3. The Chosen One ($20) Bet @ Neds

The Chosen One comes back after his New Zealand campaign, which saw him win fresh up before running third at Group 1 level last start.

He’s a talented type at his best, but he has yet to win or place from three starts at Rosehill, so tread with caution.

4. Stockman ($12) Bet @ Neds

Stockman comes off a win at Rosehill and he runs his best races at Rosehill. He owns two wins and five placings on the track, so he can’t be left out.

Getting a wet track helps his chances and he has been rock-solid in betting since markets opened. That’s a good sign, so include him in first four bets.

5. Great House ($31) Bet @ Neds

He is better for two runs back from a spell but we can’t see him running quick enough to keep up with the favourites.

6. Angel of Truth (Best Roughie – $20) Bet @ Neds

Angel of Truth comes off consecutive third placings behind Verry Elleegant and Montefilia, so he shouldn’t be discounted.

He wasn’t close behind the winner last Saturday, but being on the quick back-up is interesting and he gets the inside draw.

He’s always around the mark.

7. Sheraz ($27) Bet @ Neds

Rising to 2400m should help the imported runner who won over 3000m in France.

Overseas form always stacks up well and he didn’t have all favours last start, so putting a line through his chances would be a mistake.

8. Avion Fury ($201) Bet @ Neds

Unlikely to trouble this field after placing in BM78 grade last start. Ambitious throw at the stumps by connections.

9. Mightybeel ($31) Bet @ Neds

He handles the wet conditions but we think he’s a step below this field. Look for him in something easier in the coming weeks.

10. She’s Ideel ($10) Bet @ Neds

Didn’t handle the dry track at Flemington and she should bounce back in these conditions.

Rising in distance is also another positive and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her storming home late. She good enough to include at the price.

11. Duais (Best Bet – $2.90) Bet @ Neds

We loved the chances of Duais in the Australian Cup and she didn’t let us down.

The four-year-old showed a supreme turn-of-foot to win by two lengths against a similar field, so the form stands out.

She will settle back and stalk them into the home turn.
