Vinery Stud Stakes Form Guide & Tips

1. Yearning (Best Roughie – $12) Bet @ Neds

Yearning represents value after the benefit of two runs this preparation. She is a quality staying filly and the double-figure odds are worth taking.

Barrier 15 is a negative but she has time to find cover.

2. Hinged (Best Bet – $4.20) Bet @ Neds

Hinged is over the odds at $4.20 and she is an outstanding bet in the Vinery Stud Stakes.

She comes off a third placing behind Lighthouse, which is much better form than age-group restricted racing.

It followed an impressive win at Randwick, so she should be paying around $2.70.

3. Never Been Kissed ($9.50) Bet @ Neds

The three-year-old filly has good tactical pace and we wouldn’t rule her out of contention.

She will push forward and try run them into the ground, so she could be tough to run down late in the race.

Take the odds for trifecta options.

4. Fangirl (Best Each Way – $6) Bet @ Neds

Fangirl hasn’t had all favours over her last couple of starts but the Chris Waller-trained filly isn’t lacking ability.

She has a devastating turn-of-foot on her day and we expect her to be finishing off strongly down the outside.

5. Mokulua ($31) Bet @ Neds

Better when third last time out at Flemington when running a length behind Barb Raider.

She might need to find a couple of lengths to beat this field, which is why her odds are long.

6. Gypsy Goddess ($4.20) Bet @ Neds

There is always excitement around unbeaten runners but she might be a touch under the odds.

She has yet to lose from five starts, but she hasn’t been facing very tough opposition in Queensland, which is a concern.

She’s an obvious trifecta chance, but at the same price, we’re locking in Hinged.

7. Pretty Amazing ($7.50) Bet @ Neds

Pretty Amazing is shooting for four wins on the bounce and she gets the services of James McDonald.

She is well-named and she hasn’t been missed in betting, so include her in multiples.

8. Hope in Your Heart ($26) Bet @ Neds

Second behind Pretty Amazing at Goulburn, but this is a serious rise in class. We expect her to struggle.

9. Gin Martini ($51) Bet @ Neds

Good enough to score back-to-back wins earlier this preparation before running third behind Pretty Amazing.

Opened at $34 and she has been a big drifter.

10. Honeycreeper ($35) Bet @ Neds

It’s always tough to rule out a runner from the Cummings stable, especially with Jamie Kah riding, but we’re putting a line through her chances.

She is always around the mark, but not at this level. She would need to find a few lengths to win.

11. Stray ($31) Bet @ Neds

A winner fresh up at Randwick but her efforts since haven’t been good enough.

12. Pink Ivory ($18) Bet @ Neds

An interesting runner for John Sargent, who comes off a four-length win at Newcastle when rising in distance.

Sargent is a good trainer for staying fillies races and she has attracted attention in the betting. Consider at the price.

13. Ellenmac ($91) Bet @ Neds

A two-time winner who opened at $201, but we can’t see finishing close enough.

14. Youthfull ($251) Bet @ Neds

Form isn’t inspiring any confidence and we can’t see her going well.

15. Hidden Smile ($251) Bet @ Neds

She’s in the same boat as Youthfull and Ellenmac.
