We have expert betting tips for AFL Round 13, which kicks off on Thursday with the Richmond vs Port Adelaide.
AFL action continues with an excellent selection of games this week, including Brisbane vs St Kilda and Collingwood vs Melbourne.

7:20pm Richmond Tigers vs Port Adelaide Power @ MCG
The Richmond Tigers should have enjoyed a week off following a tough 106-100 loss in Round 11, so they should be well-rested and firing on Thursday.
It hasn’t been the easiest season for the Tigers, who have battled injuries but they’re starting to look much better.
Port Adelaide got the better of the Essendon Bombers two weeks ago but they haven’t played well on the road. We expect the Tigers to score safely.
Betting tip: Richmond Tigers –18.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Ladbrokes
Tigers by 26
7:50pm Essendon Bombers vs Carlton Blues @ MCG
Carlton played well when losing to the Collingwood Magpies two weeks ago and the 79-75 defeat holds them in good stead against the Bombers.
Essendon hasn’t been firing on all cylinders and it could be another long season. It’s getting +22.5 points with bookmakers but we don’t think that will be enough.
The Blues could be playoff bound, and although the Bombers are tidy on their day, we haven’t seen enough consistency to back them with confidence.
Betting tip: Carlton Blues –22.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Ladbrokes
Blues by 30
4:10pm Fremantle Dockers vs Hawthorn Hawks @ Optus Stadium
We still like Fremantle to win the premiership and beating the Brisbane Lions last week did their chances no harm.
The 99-85 victory was top class ant it bodes well against a team like the Hawthorn Hawks, who lost to the Collingwood Magpies.
We love what we are seeing from the Dockers and they should have no problem putting up a big score on the Hawks.
Betting tip: Fremantle Dockers –34.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Ladbrokes
Dockers by 40
7:25pm Brisbane Lions vs St Kilda Saints @ Gabba
It has been tough stretch for the Brisbane Lions but rebounding against the St Kilda Saints gets them back into contention.
Following a hard-fought loss to Fremantle, the Lions get back to Gabba where they should produce the goods against St Kilda.
The Saints had a one-week break following an easy win against North Melbourne but this will be much harder. We think they could struggle given the circumstances.
Betting tip: Brisbane Lions –15.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Ladbrokes
Lions by 25
3:20pm North Melbourne Kangaroos vs GWS Giants @ Marvel Stadium
We wouldn’t touch the North Melbourne Kangaroos with a 10-foot pole, so we’re backing the GWS Giants regardless of the points spread.
Bookmakers have the Giants at –40.5, which is a generous line. We thought they would be around –50.5, so we’ll take the value available for the much better team.
Punters have had a torrid time backing the Kangaroos with the points and it’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
Betting tip: GWS Giants –40.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Ladbrokes
Giants by 56
3:20pm Collingwood Magpies vs Melbourne Demons @ MCG
It hasn’t been easy going for the Melbourne Demons over the last few weeks but they can rebound against the Magpies.
Collingwood has been playing better football recently but most of it has come against much easier teams than Melbourne.
We expect the Demons to be far too good on Monday and cover the –24.5 spread, which could move to around –27.5 on game day.
Betting tip: Melbourne Demons –24.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Ladbrokes
Demons by 30
