All Aged Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. Mo’unga (Best Bet – $6) Bet @ Neds
Mo’unga hasn’t been able to win this preparation but he’s at his best after finishing second behind Sierra Sue.
The son of Savabeel won his only start on heavy ground and we’re happy with the generous each-way odds available.
He is a classy type who should run well.
2. Cascadian ($13) Bet @ Neds
Cascadian is a tough horse to follow as he’ll get back and run on, but it doesn’t often end well for punters.
We’re not sure he enjoys the very heavy conditions, so we’re leaving him out.
3. Kolding ($71) Bet @ Neds
Kolding hasn’t run a good race for some time and we don’t think that’s about to change. The six-time winner at Randwick would need to improve soon.
4. Zoutori ($46) Bet @ Neds
He has yet to show his best form at Randwick and despite being backed in from triple-figures, he’s not featuring in our selections.
5. Ellsberg ($16) Bet @ Neds
We wouldn’t drop Ellsberg based on his last run. He loves heavy tracks and punters get value odds for the risk.
Include him in trifecta and first four selections.
6. Laws of Indicies ($31) Bet @ Neds
We expected better from Laws of Indicies last start, but there wasn’t much to get excited about.
His form in Sydney isn’t ideal and he needs to find a few lengths.
7. Olmedo ($101) Bet @ Neds
Punters get big odds and with good reason. He’s not running well enough to figure in the finish of a Group 1 race.
8. Forbidden Love ($5) Bet @ Neds
Despite not winning the Doncaster Mile, Forbidden Love was game in defeat and commands respect on that performance.
She will have to work hard from a wide draw here, but she enters calculations and she deserves to be favourite.
9. Tofane (Best Each Way – $11) Bet @ Neds
Victorian form has been stacking up nicely in Sydney in the wet, so we’re putting Tofane in the mix.
She owns a win at Randwick and she’s a proven Group 1 performer, so getting double-figure odds is generous.
Wet tracks aren’t ideal, but she owns two wins on slow surfaces.
10. Sierra Sue ($17) Bet @ Neds
Sierra Sue is another proven winner at this level and she could produce the goods in her first attempt at Randwick.
The Victorian-based mare owns nine wins from 23 starts and we wouldn’t exclude her from our selections at the odds.
11. Nimalee (Best Roughie – $15) Bet @ Neds
Nimalee won the Queen of the Turf last start and we’re not going to leave her out of selections based on that run.
Having Damien Oliver in the saddle helps once again and punters get odds worth snapping up. She represents excellent value.
12. Shout the Bar ($21) Bet @ Neds
There has been some support for Shout the Bar following her bounce-back win at Moonee Valley.
The five-year-old can be tough to follow at times, but she won by four lengths and it was a dominant display.
We wouldn’t leave her out based on that effort.
13. Hungry Heart ($35) Bet @ Neds
Hungry Heart ran well behind Think It Over last start, which has since been franked in the Queen Elizabeth.
However, her lack of winning form is a concern and we don’t think her confidence levels are where they need to be.
14. In the Congo ($5.50) Bet @ Neds
Money has come for In the Congo, who is getting close to a win after back-to-back placings.
There is more depth to this race, but the three-year-old colt has plenty of pace and he’s getting close to breaking through.
15. Overpass ($18) Bet @ Neds
Overpass has ability, and despite lacking heavy track form, he’s unbeaten in three starts on a slow surface.
His odds are drifting but he’s not the worst runner in the field and he’s being respected.
16. Shelby Sixtysix ($23) Bet @ Neds
He pulled up lame in the T.J. Smith, so that run could be overlooked. His form prior was good and he could bounce back quickly.
After opening at $16, his odds have drifted, which isn’t ideal.
17. Mr Mozart ($21) Bet @ Neds
Mr Mozart is searching for three straight wins and his confidence levels are high.
He got the better of a talented field at Newcastle and that run could be enough to see him take it out.
