Doncaster Mile Form Guide & Tips
—
1. Cascadian ($34) Bet @ Neds
Dangerous at its best and he finished off nicely last start, but this could be a test too far.
2. I’m Thunderstruck (Best Each Way – $5) Bet @ Neds
Produced a big finish behind Zaaki last start and it’s preparing for the Doncaster Mile beautifully.
Handles all tracks and we’re happy with the each-way odds available, so he can’t be left out of calculations.
3. Private Eye (Best Roughie – $17) Bet @ Neds
Drawing barrier 22 will force him back, but that’s where he likes to be. Had no luck last time out and he’s unbeaten at the distance.
Way over the odds and punters could cash in with the classy son of Al Maher.
4. Dalasan ($51) Bet @ Neds
He has been disappointing for a while and he might be searching for easier grades. It would be an upset win if he got the job done.
5. Lighthouse ($15) Bet @ Neds
The former American hasn’t put a foot wrong since arriving in Australia and she can’t be left out of calculations.
She showed her class to win the Coolmore last time out only the draw is against her, but include in all bets.
6. Laws of Indicies ($31) Bet @ Neds
Nothing wrong with his placing at Rosehill behind Forbidden Love and that form stacks up. However, he would need to find another length to win.
He’s a chance at the weights, but we’re prepared to risk him.
7. Ellsberg ($15) Bet @ Neds
A wet track specialist with four starts in the heavy for two wins and two second placings.
He also loves running at Randwick, so he can’t be overlooked at a generous price.
8. Inspirational Girl ($31) Bet @ Neds
She defeated Zaaki two back but was left flat-footed last time out. Unsure about the heavy track and seeing Randwick for the first time.
9. Hungry Heart ($81) Bet @ Neds
Running out of chances to show her best form and we’re unsure if she will run. Needs dry ground and it’s not coming.
10. Icebath ($18) Bet @ Neds
Good enough to cause an upset and bookmakers aren’t letting her out of their sights.
The light weight helps and she’s good enough to enter first-four calculations at the odds.
11. Sky Lab ($91) Bet @ Neds
We expected better last start and we’re unsure if getting the inside draw is what he wants. He’s a big type, so he’ll need clear air.
$91 is tempting however, so keep in mind at the price.
12. Kissonallforcheeks ($31) Bet @ Neds
Comes off an impressive win at Flemington, but she’ll need to find a couple of lengths to win at Group 1 level.
Drifting in betting isn’t a good sign.
13. Numerian ($71) Bet @ Neds
Only a three-time winner and the former Irish thoroughbred would need to improve. We haven’t seen enough to include him.
14. Hilal ($67) Bet @ Neds
Talented on his day and he likes running at Randwick, but winning the Doncaster Mile isn’t easy.
We think the odds are correct.
15. Brutality ($34) Bet @ Neds
He’s often under the odds and this is no different. We would have priced him around $50, so he’s not entering our calculations.
16. Forbidden Love (Best Bet – $4.60) Bet @ Neds
Firing on all levels after three consecutive wins and she is the one they all have to beat.
Four wins at Randwick and getting in the race with only 50kg on her back should see her right in the mix.
Jamie Kah rides and we’re liking the $4.60.
17. Just Folk ($23) Bet @ Neds
Comes off a win at Rosehill when beating Ellsberg, so that form must be considered with only 50kg on his back.
Sneaks into first four calculations.
18. Kiku ($61) Bet @ Neds
Knocking on the door of a win but not at this level. She would need to lift to win the feature.
19. Mr Brightside ($21) Bet @ Neds
Nothing wrong with his run in the All-Star Mile and he should be worth considering at the odds.
Drawn wide but his class should take him close.
20. Converge ($9) Bet @ Neds
He owns two wins and two placings at Randwick. Chased hard behind Anamoe last start and getting in with 49.5kg is ideal.
A good chance with a run.
21. Bankers Choice ($19) Bet @ Neds
Kiwis should always be respected and he enjoys running in wet conditions. Respected with bookmakers.
22. King Magnus ($101) Bet @ Neds
Not running well enough this preparation and he’s unlikely to run.
23. Ironclad ($81) Bet @ Neds
Returned to form with a win at Morphettville but this is a massive rise in class.
24. Our Playboy ($101) Bet @ Neds
Unlikely to get a run.
