Golden Slipper Form Guide & Tips

1. Daumier ($23) Bet @ Sportsbet

He has two wins from three starts but other runners rate higher. He’s smart, but he had all favours in the Blue Diamond.

Tough to completely rule out, but that’s the nature of the Golden Slipper.

2. Sejardan ($7) Bet @ Sportsbet

A must-include in trifecta and first four bets. That was a professional win last start and he demands attention.

Keeps winning and he handles all tracks, so the $7 is a value price for the second favourite.

3. Best of Bordeaux ($9.50) Bet @ Sportsbet

An underrated type who has done nothing wrong. Pushes forward and tries to run them into the ground, so he makes his own luck.

Inclined to include him in selections based on his racing pattern.

4. Shalatin ($34) Bet @ Sportsbet

Yet to win and it’s tough to recommend his form. He is a nice type in the making but we’d prefer to see him in something much easier.

5. Jacquinot (Best Each Way – $11) Bet @ Sportsbet

Jacquinot hasn’t had the best racing manners, but he’s a seriously good type who hit the line nicely in the Blue Diamond.

We loved his debut performance and with Hugh Bowman riding, he should get every chance in the run.

6. Sebonack ($34) Bet @ Sportsbet

Drawing barrier 15 doesn’t help his chances and he didn’t have all favours in the Blue Diamond, so he’s not far off them.

Prepared to leave out of selections purely based on the draw.

7. Rise of the Masses ($61) Bet @ Sportsbet

Ran too quickly for them last start but barrier 20 could all but end his chances. He’ll need a lot of luck and it’s unlikely to come.

8. Coolangatta (Best Bet – $4.60) Bet @ Sportsbet

The favourite has the best form in the Golden Slipper and that has to be taken into account.

She has been bomb-proof so far and she’s an exciting type in the making, so we’re happy with the current odds and she’s the one they all have to beat.

9. Revolutionary Miss ($16) Bet @ Sportsbet

She doesn’t know how to run a bad race and she would have been shorter in the market had she drawn a barrier.

She is still a chance of winning if they go quickly in front, so consider as a first-four hope.

10. Russian Conquest ($14) Bet @ Sportsbet

Didn’t handle the heavy conditions last start and she should be given another chance.

However, drawing barrier 16 hurts and she’s another smart runner not helped by the situation.

11. Queen of the Ball ($17) Bet @ Sportsbet

Gets a favourable barrier draw and that could be enough to see her right in the finish on Saturday.

She’s not the most talented filly in the race, but she’ll get a dream run just behind the speed and she could produce late.

Include in multiples.

12. Fireburn (Best Roughie – $12) Bet @ Sportsbet

We like what we have seen from Fireburn with her last three wins. She held off some smart types last start and the conditions are no problem.

Barrier two is ideal and punters get value odds to enjoy, so she must be considered at the double-figure price.

13. Ojai ($51) Bet @ Sportsbet

A quality type in her own right, but she might be better suited to something slightly easier. The odds suggest as much.

14. Seven Veils ($27) Bet @ Sportsbet

An interesting runner who has drawn the car park. Another runner that could struggle to produce her best out wide.

15. Lady Laguna ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet

She kicked off her career with back-to-back wins before running two handy races. Needs to find a few lengths to turn those placings around.

16. She’s Extreme ($8.50) Bet @ Sportsbet

A lovely mover who gave them a lesson at Rosehill last time out. On the way up and she’s drawn to get every chance.

Watch late betting moves as she could firm considerably.

17. Sweet Ride ($71) Bet @ Sportsbet

Nothing wrong with her form but it’s a deep field and she could struggle to keep up.

18. Millane ($71) Bet @ Sportsbet

Unlikely to get a run but that was a strong debut effort at Flemington. Inside draw helps, but this is a serious rise in class.

19. Semillion ($126) Bet @ Sportsbet

Not running well enough to be considered and it will be too tough from out wide.

20. Man in the Mirror ($251) Bet @ Sportsbet

Would need some scratchings to get a run.
