Sires’ Produce Stakes Form Guide & Tips

1. Daumier ($8.50) Bet @ Neds

Daumier is already a two-time winner and he wasn’t far away in the Golden Slipper.

The Cummings-trained colt has the talent to beat this field and punters get value odds, so he should be included in trifecta and first four selections.

2. Shalatin ($23) Bet @ Neds

He has yet to win a race but he hasn’t been facing easy fields. He comes off a third placing behind Sejardan on a heavy track, so the conditions are fine.

Getting the inside draw in these conditions might not be the place to be.

3. Let’srollthedice (Best Roughie – $13) Bet @ Neds

Unbeaten from two Victorian starts and his debut win came by 3.5 lengths on a heavy surface.

That bodes well and we’re surprised his odds have drifted from $9 to $13, which is a sizable shift during the week.

We’re more than happy to have him on our tickets.

4. Counttheheadlights ($27) Bet @ Neds

He scored a win on debut at Moonee Valley before struggling a touch in two subsequent runs at Caulfield.

He comes off a trial placing at Rosehill, so he handles this way of going, but he’ll need to lift to beat this field.

5. Millane ($16)

Millane didn’t squeeze into the Golden Slipper field but the colt by Zoustar shouldn’t be overlooked.

He showed toughness when winning on debut at Flemington and he has been well-backed after opening at $26.

That’s a solid betting move and we wouldn’t be leaving him out.

6. Man in the Mirror ($27) Bet @ Neds

Man in the Mirror ran second behind Let’srollthedice last start, so we can’t discount his form.

The stable is firing and his effort at Randwick two back in heavy conditions was good enough, so he’s not the worst in this field.

7. Magic ($14) Bet @ Neds

Magic had his chance behind Rise of the Masses last start, so we’re unsure if he’s good enough to turn that around.

The Hawkes-trained colt will win a race soon, but we don’t think the $14 is a good price. We would have considered him at $24, so we’re prepared to leave him out.

8. Warby ($23) Bet @ Neds

Warby did well to finish second on debut behind Queen of the Ball. It was an impressive debut placing, but there is more depth to this field.

His odds have drifted price an opening quote of $16, so his odds could continue to lengthen.

9. Wealthy Investor ($91) Bet @ Neds

There is no market support for Wealthy Investor and this is a stab in the dark from connections.

10. Showcourt ($7.50) Bet @ Neds

Big bets have come for Showcourt, who hasn’t been far behind some nice types in two career starts.

The Snitzel colt ran fourth behind Sejardan last start before winning a trial at Rosehill by a length, which has caught punters’ attention.

He goes into the mix based on the betting support.

11. Brosnan ($31) Bet @ Neds

That was an improved run at Flemington, but we can’t see enough improvement to win at this level.

Tim Clark will likely head forward and try pinch the race.

12. Fireburn (Best Bet – $2.40) Bet @ Neds

Fireburn’s win in the Slipper was incredible and she looks like a top-level filly who could continue winning.

She now owns four wins from five starts, and despite getting shoved into the rail, she won the Slipper going away.

She’s unbeaten on the track and punters have every right to be confident.

13. She’s Extreme (Best Each Way – $8.50) Bet @ Neds

She’s Extreme did enough in the Slipper to be considered at the price in the Inglis Sires’ Produce.

She looked good when winning by 1.5 lengths at Rosehill prior to that and anything close to that effort could be enough.

Punters get value odds, so include her.
