We have expert betting tips for NRL Round 17, which kicks off on Thursday with the Cronulla Sharks vs Melbourne Storm.
There are only four games on this week with State of Origin Game 3 being played next Wednesday. However, the small card features some intriguing games.

7:50pm Cronulla Sharks vs Melbourne Storm @ PointsBet Stadium
The Melbourne Storm produced their worst performance against the Manly Sea Eagles last week. It was a terrible effort, so they need to bounce back without their Origin stars in the mix.
Not having the experience of their Origin players isn’t ideal, especially Cameron Munster. It could put the Cronulla Sharks in a better position to snare a win at home.
The Sharks did enough to beat the Bulldogs last week and that should give them confidence to kick on with it and win as outsiders.
We think bookmakers have the market around the wrong way, so take the Sharks to score a home upset.

7:55pm Newcastle Knights vs South Sydney Rabbitohs @ McDonald Jones Stadium
The South Sydney Rabbitohs got their season back on track with a comfortable win over the Parramatta Eels in driving Sydney rain last week.
It was a much-needed win for the Rabbitohs, who welcomed back Latrell Mitchell. He opted out of Origin, so he’s on deck against the Newcastle Knights.
The Knights looked good when beating the Gold Coast Titans last week, but this is a big rise in class, so we’re expecting them to struggle.
Take the Rabbitohs –6.5 as they should score with ease.
Betting tip: South Sydney Rabbitohs –6.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

7:35pm Wests Tigers vs Parramatta Eels @ Leichhardt Oval
The Parramatta Eels are the most inconsistent team in the NRL and that was evident when they showed very little against the Rabbitohs last week.
It was another disappointing effort but punters have every right to be confident in the Eels beating the hapless Wests Tigers, who couldn’t score a try against the New Zealand Warriors.
The Tigers are likely to finish near the bottom of the ladder, especially if they can’t put points on the easier teams. We expect them to struggle mightily against the Eels, who don’t get a better chance to move up the NRL ladder.
Betting tip: Parramatta Eels –10.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

4:05pm Brisbane Broncos vs St George Dragons @ Suncorp Stadium
The Brisbane Broncos had their moments against the North Queensland Cowboys last week, but ultimately came up short in an exciting battle.
Adam Reynolds might have been rushed back too early as he was ineffective. However, they could rebound against an improving Dragons outfit.
The Dragons handled the wet conditions best when beating the Canberra Raiders on Sunday but we weren’t impressed with the quality. It will be a much harder ask this week even with the Broncos playing without their Origin stars.
It’s a favourable line for Broncos’ backers.
Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos –5.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds
