2022 NRL Season Predictions & Betting Tips

NRL 2022 Premiership Season Preview & Predictions

The 2022 NRL season is only a matter of days away and we look at the best NRL futures bets for the 2022 season.

As always, the Melbourne Storm are the premiership favourites, but it’s a wide-open market and the title is up for grabs.

We look at the best premiership winner markets, top try scorer, top points scorer and wooden spoon contenders for NRL 2022.

2022 NRL Premiership Winner – Penrith Panthers

We correctly predicted the Penrith Panthers winning last season and we see no reason to jump off their backs.

It’s hard to go back-to-back in the NRL, but the Penrith Panthers have all the right tools to double down on last season’s efforts.

With the likes of Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai controlling the ship, they should have another top season and the back line is stacked with try scoring talent.

There has been solid betting support for the Panthers at $5.50 and it’s a price worth taking. They’re well coached, and although we’re worried about the Grand Final hangover, this is a squad that could dominate the next few years.

Bet: Penrith Panthers @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

2022 NRL Premiership Winner Value Bet – Manly Sea Eagles

It wasn’t long ago when the Manly Sea Eagles were in doubt of staying in the NRL, but now they’re a genuine premiership contender.

They are currently on the fourth line of betting at $9 and we think they’re going to give the finals a shakeup.

The current roster is packed with talented players, so the core is there and they just need to stay injury free to have a chance.

The pre-season hasn’t been good injury wise, but it’s a long year and we have little doubt the Sea Eagles will find their groove in the middle stages.

Punters should take the value odds before they drop.

Bet: Manly Sea Eagles @ $9 – Bet @ Sportsbet

2022 NRL Premiership Long Shot – Brisbane Broncos

If there is one NRL team that needs to rediscover their best it’s the Brisbane Broncos, who have endured some tough recent seasons.

The addition of Adam Reynolds should give them enough spark to start playing better and there is no reason why this team can’t win a premiership.

They have names such as Corey Oates, Jamayne Isaako, Kotoni Staggs and Payne Haas, so the talent is there.

The problem is getting them to playing consistently, but at odds of $26, they’re worth having a nibble on.

Bet: Brisbane Broncos @ $26 – Bet @ Sportsbet

2022 NRL Top Try Scorer – Xavier Coates

Being a winger for the Melbourne Storm comes with its advantages and Xavier Coates is about to find out.

The former Brisbane Broncos can expect to see plenty of ball come his way and we thought he would be shorter in the market than $10.

Storm wingers are always tough to beat in try-scoring markets, especially players as talented as Coates, who can fly through the air.

He’ll get good service from the halves and we can see him scoring in bunches, so take the $10 and let it ride for the season.

Another player we would have on our ticket is Josh Addo-Carr for the Bulldogs. We’re not expecting big things from the Dogs, but Addo-Carr should get plenty of chances to cross the white line.

Bet: Xavier Coates @ $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

2022 NRL Top Point Scorer – Reuben Garrick

Reuben Garrick is one of the best kickers in the NRL and the Manly Sea Eagles give him plenty of opportunities.

They are a high-scoring team, so Garrick gets ample opportunity to kick the conversion and rack up the points.

He’s the current $3 favourite for a season and he’s a much better betting proposition than Ryan Papenhuyzen at $5.

Papenhuyzen will add points by scoring tries, but he’s not an elite kicker and that could cost him the top point scorer title.

Bet: Reuben Garrick @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

2022 NRL Wooden Spoon – North Queensland Cowboys

The Wests Tigers are the favourites after another ordinary season, but we fancy the North Queensland Cowboys to struggle the most.

Not all is well inside the camp and they lack serious direction, so we could see the club unravel throughout the year.

Since Johnathan Thurston retired the Cowboys haven’t been the same and their struggles are set to continue.

Bet: North Queensland Cowboys @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
