Ranvet Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. Angel of Truth ($8.50) Bet @ Sportsbet
Angel of Truth returned to form with a third placing at Randwick behind Verry Elleegant and he could benefit from the small field.
He should settle on the pace and give a good kick, so we’re not surprised by the each-way odds available with bookmakers.
He’s an obvious trifecta and first-four chance.
2. Entente ($23) Bet @ Sportsbet
The son of Dundeel hasn’t been at his best this preparation but he might have needed two runs back from a spell.
He is a two-time winner at Rosehill and the slight improvement in track conditions helps. If the track dries out, which it’s unlikely to do, his chances increase.
3. Sikandarabad ($61) Bet @ Sportsbet
We don’t have high hopes for Sikandarabad, who hasn’t done much in two runs back from a spell.
He comes off a seventh at Canberra behind Monegal and he would need to find a few lengths to be competitive based on that run.
We expect him to be struggling halfway down the straight.
4. Emissary (Best Roughie – $18) Bet @ Sportsbet
Emissary is an interesting runner for Mike Moroney. He is a former UK runner who owns three placings in Australia, including a third placing behind Cascadian at Caulfield.
There wasn’t much wrong with that run and he should be better for it. The stable is running hot and he could offer punters with value odds.
5. Verry Elleegant (Best Bet – $1.35) Bet @ Sportsbet
She is the class horse of the race and the odds aren’t surprising. She won her 16th race last start, which was only her second start back after the Melbourne Cup.
With four wins and a second placing from five starts at Rosehill, she is a track specialist who shouldn’t be getting beaten.
There isn’t much value in the $1.35, but include her in multi bets this Saturday to boost payout.
6. Montefilia (Best Each Way – $5.50) Bet @ Sportsbet
Montefilia has been best-backed to beat the favourite after finishing seventh behind Verry Elleegant last start.
The four-year-old is never too far away from the prize and she owns a win and a placing at Rosehill, so she must be included on an each-way basis.
