1. Splintex ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet
Splintex hasn’t received a good draw and that could make it too tough for him.
He’s not in the best form, and although he owns two wins from three starts at Rosehill, we’re not including him in selections.
2. Big Parade ($11) Bet @ Sportsbet
Big Parade can’t be discounted based on his record. He owns eight wins from 16 starts and three of them have come fresh up.
His odds are firming and we wouldn’t be surprised if he started as a single-figure chance.
3. Bella Nipotina ($31) Bet @ Sportsbet
Bella Nipotina wasn’t far behind the likes of Marabi and Away Game last start, but she would need to lift on that effort.
She has a knack of always being around the mark, so include in first-four options, but she needs to run at her best.
4. In the Congo ($13) Bet @ Sportsbet
In the Congo returns after a terrific campaign, including three wins and three second placings from seven starts.
He is a smart colt who could hit the ground running after a trial win, so leaving him out of selections isn’t an ideal decision.
5. Overpass (Best Each Way – $10) Bet @ Sportsbet
Overpass showed his class when scoring at Flemington last start and the three-year-old colt could continue running well.
He meets a much stronger field here, but his win at Rosehill three starts back came over Forbidden Love, who headlines the George Ryder Stakes.
6. Away Game ($13) Bet @ Sportsbet
Away Game has been chasing gamely this season without winning. She is running well enough to be considered, but we’re prepared to risk her.
7. Brooklyn Hustle ($11) Bet @ Sportsbet
The five-year-old mare flashed late at Flemington when running second behind Malkovich and the slight rise in distance helps.
She hasn’t raced at Rosehill before, which is the big concern.
8. Isotope (Best Bet – $4) Bet @ Sportsbet
She’s the only runner at single-figure odds following her sixth career win last start at Gold Coast.
The mare by Deep Field is unbeaten in two second-up starts and she could live up to her potential by winning again.
She’s classy at best and she’s our best bet.
9. Malkovich ($23) Bet @ Sportsbet
Malkovich held them off at Flemington, but we needed to see more to give him a chance of winning at Group 1 level.
He’s under the odds in our opinion.
10. Minhaaj ($16) Bet @ Sportsbet
Nothing went her way at Caulfield, but punters should expect a better performance from a good barrier.
Her two wins last preparation were classy and carrying 54kg is ideal. She goes into the mix at the odds.
11. Paulele ($11) Bet @ Sportsbet
We would have included Paulele in selections had he not drawn barrier 17. It’s tough for an on-pace type from there.
12. Rule of Law ($20) Bet @ Sportsbet
The winning run of Rule of Law came to an end last week at the hands of Shelby Sixtysix.
He is running in career-best form and he’s a tough type, but he might be looking for the paddock, so don’t include him.
13. Ballistic Lover ($21) Bet @ Sportsbet
The fresh up form of Ballistic Lover reads well and she won a trial at Warwick Farm to prepare.
She is a dangerous type on her day, but we can’t pick them all, so wait for a better opportunity to cash with her.
14. Belluci Babe ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet
She capped off consistent form with a win at Randwick and she’s good enough to kick on with the job. However, probably not at Group 1 level.
Carrying 52kg is a positive but slightly easier level is more her go.
15. Shelby Sixtysix (Best Roughie – $13) Bet @ Sportsbet
We’re not sure what has come over Shelby Sixtysix, but she is running terrifically and she needs to be included.
She finished second behind Eduardo before winning well last time out, so that form is good enough to warrant inclusion.
16. Jamaea ($19) Bet @ Sportsbet
She hasn’t been overly consistent this season and that’s a concern. The talent is there and carrying 50kg helps, but she could struggle.
17. Delexo ($251) Bet @ Sportsbet
Big odds available and it would be a big upset.
