Morphettville horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:52) Weslo Security BM62 (1200m)

#1 – Angel Like @ $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Angel Like comes off a win at Murray Bridge and that form should translate to something good at Morphettville.

The three-year-old filly owns two placings on this track and getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle is a bonus.

Punters should expect a tidy effort.

Race 2. (13:27) Dominant BM62 (1525m)

#2 – Water into Wine @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Water into Wine scored by a half-length on debut at Murray Bridge and he could remain unbeaten.

The three-year-old son of Sir Prancelot had solid betting support and punters can get each-way odds again.

Barrier two is ideal and he should go close.

Race 3. (14:02) Furphy BM72 (1200m)

#7 – Lady Simone @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Lady Simone drops to 51kg and that’s why she has attracted plenty of attention with bookmakers.

The four-year-old mare by All Too Hard is a two-time winner from 10 starts, so she has the form on the board.

The $2.60 might not last long, so take the odds available.

Race 4. (14:37) Tab Adelaide Cup Day BM68 (1100m)

#2 – Secret War @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Most of the money is with Secret War and rightfully so. The six-year-old owns four wins and five placings from 11 starts, so he doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

He is a three-time winner at the distance and getting 3kg off his back helps with the big allotted weight.

We’re expecting another top-level performance.

Race 5. (15:12) Grand Syndicates BM82 (1600m)

#1 – Black Sail @ $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The form of Black Sail doesn’t stand out, but he’s a much better runner than that suggests.

He is a six-time winner, with one of those wins coming at Morphettville. He loves the distance and he’ll find this easier than recent racing.

The race is there for the taking and he could pay a handy price.

Race 6. (15:52) Fleurieu Milk Company 0MW (1600m)

#6 – Frankel Star @ $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Frankel Star has been around the mark with three placings this preparation and he’s never too far away.

The son of Frankel has run some nice races with the sting out of the surface, so the track conditions should be ideal.

Dropping in weight helps and we’ll take the odds available.

Race 7. (16:32) The Junction BM68 (1800m)

#6 – Montign @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old hasn’t been facing tough opposition, but with two wins from his last two races, we’re in his camp.

He is now a three-time winner from nine starts and he loves some moisture in the surface, so we’re expecting a big effort.

Barrier two is ideal and we’ll take the odds.

Race 8. (17:12) Durbridge Stakes (1100m)

#1 – Behemoth @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The six-year-old son of All Too Hard is one of the best sprinters in Australia with 10 wins from 25 starts.

The dual-Group 1 winner is a five-time winner at Morphettville and with five wins from seven fresh up starts, he should hit the ground running.

Barrier four is perfect and they shouldn’t get past him.

Race 9. (17:52) Happy 50th Tim Phelan BM64 (1200m)

#6 – Miss Langtry @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Miss Langtry comes off three consecutive wins and that form should stack up well at Morphettville.

The four-year-old mare has turned her form around impressively and punters get each-way odds to lap up.

She drops to 56kg and we expect her to be competitive.
