Bendigo horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (13:00) Bendigo Mazda Maiden Plate (1600m)

#1 – Bors @ $2 – Bet @ PlayUp

Bors should have broken through for a win by now, but we’re sticking with him until he wins.

The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old owns four placings from seven starts and he has placed in all three starts over the mile.

He finished a nose behind the winner at Cranbourne and he could reverse that form to score an overdue win.

Race 2. (13:35) Bet365 Protest Promise Maiden (1300m)

#4 – Set to Prophet @ $5.50 – Bet @ PlayUp

Set to Prophet didn’t fire on debut at Pakenham but we’re prepared to give him another chance.

The three-year-old had excellent betting support at $2.80, so expectations were high and he should have strengthened up with the spell.

The price is right and he’s worth an each-way bet.

Race 3. (14:10) The Big Screen Company Maiden (1100m)

#10 – Kaleidoscope Eyes @ $3.50 – Bet @ PlayUp

Kaleidoscope Eyes has shown promise in four career starts and the three-year-old filly could hit the ground running.

The daughter of Your Song has looked solid in two jumpouts at Flemington, so she’s ready to fire and that’s reflected in betting markets.

Having Craig Williams in the saddle helps her chances.

Race 4. (14:45) Bendigo MG Maiden (1100m)

#4 – Larry of Arabia @ $2 – Bet @ PlayUp

Larry of Arabia has been patiently handled as a four-year-old and he comes off a jumpout win at Cranbourne.

The son of Sports Edition hasn’t been missed in betting markets and that’s typically a positive sign for a debutante.

It’s another good ride for Williams, who could continue his impressive form.

Race 5. (15:20) Apiam Animal Health BM64 (1100m)

#3 – Naples @ $4.20 – Bet @ PlayUp

Naples has the ability to put this field away and not much went her way at Sandown last start, so overlook that effort.

The James Cummings-trained filly owns two wins and five placings from 13 starts, so she’s rarely too far away from the prize.

We expect her to drop back from the draw and hit the line with power late.

Race 6. (15:55) Dearaugo & Lea Electrical BM70 (1000m)

#5 – Stay in Touch @ $2.30 – Bet @ PlayUp

Stay in Touch owns three wins and a placing from four starts, so her consistency has rewarded punters.

The four-year-old comes off a heavy track win at Ballarat, and although it’s not her favourite surface, she got the better of a quality type in Direct.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and the money is starting to come.

Race 7. (16:30) Centre Stage Scaffolding BM64 (1500m)

#2 – Confrontational @ $6 – Bet @ PlayUp

Confrontational placed at his only attempt at Bendigo and he’s better than his recent form suggests.

The son of Redoute’s Choice showed ability when running fourth at Pakenham late last year and he doesn’t have much of a field to beat here.

Dropping in class helps and it could see his form improve.

Race 8. (17:05) Bendigo Magazine BM64 (1300m)

#6 – House Spouse @ $3.80 – Bet @ PlayUp

House Spouse would have been shorter in betting markets had he drawn a barrier, but he’s still on top.

The four-year-old gelding looked good on debut when winning at Echuca by 6.3 lengths before running second at Bendigo.

If he gets luck from out wide, he should be the one they all have to beat.
