We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Ballarat and Scone.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.

Race 2. (13:20) Global Turf Maiden Plate (1100m)
#13 – Far Too Tempting @ $4.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Far Too Tempting is getting close to a win after five placings from nine starts and she should have all favours here.
The Corstens-trained daughter of All Too Hard owns two placings at Ballarat and she deserves a change in fortune.
Take the each-way odds available.
Race 3. (13:55) Porter Plant Maiden (1200m)
#10 – Poiema @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Poiema went close at Ballarat last time out and we expect the three-year-old filly to be winning soon.
She was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner last start and she gets all favours off the inside draw, so punters should expect a top effort.
It could pay to watch late betting moves.
Race 5. (15:05) Martin Collins Polytrack BM70 (1400m)
#1 – Sonaree @ $3.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Sonaree is a professional six-time winner and 10-time placegetter from 35 starts and he could win his first attempt at Ballarat.
The nine-year-old comes off a fourth at Caulfield behind Here to Shock and that’s Saturday form, so it stacks up nicely.
The odds are fair for a runner with a 3kg claimer.
Race 7. (16:20) Hygain Winners Choice BM70 (1200m)
#1 – Port Louis @ $3.90 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Port Louis was one of the more talented maiden runners before breaking his duck at Murtoa last time out.
The four-year-old has more than $200,000 in the kitty despite being a one-win type, so he has the clear class edge over this field.
We expected much shorter odds, so jump on.
Race 1. (12:35) Yarraman Park BM58 (900m)
#2 – Don’t Doubt Katie @ $3.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Don’t Doubt Katie has plenty of speed and she could hit the ground running this preparation.
The four-year-old daughter of Extreme Choice is bred for speed and she has shown it in two wins and three placings from six starts.
We’re sticking with her at value odds.
Race 2. (13:10) Emirates Park BM58 (1100m)
#1 – Ezekeil @ $2.35 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Ezekeil has yet to fire in two race day starts at Scone but he comes off a trial win on the track.
The Cody Morgan-trained four-year-old runs his best races over the distance and getting 1.5kg off his huge 65.5kg weight helps.
Watch for any late betting moves.
Race 4. (14:20) SRC Tradies Day Maiden (900m)
#14 – Sumptuary @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Sumptuary is on debut for Paul Messara and the three-year-old filly looks well-placed to score.
She is a daughter of Snitzel who owns two trial placings at Scone and carrying 55kg could make the difference.
We expect a tidy debut effort and the odds could firm.
Race 6. (15:30) SRC Tradies Maiden (1100m)
#6 – Calamity Fox @ $3.90 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Calamity Fox ran second on debut at Grafton before disappointing at Warwick Farm but he’s better than that.
The three-year-old son of Foxwedge looked solid at the trials recently and there is enough betting support to warrant attention.
Firming from an opening quote of $5.50 is a good sign.
