Friday Horse Racing Tips – Friday, July 15th 2022

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Geelong and Scone.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.

Tried our top rated bookmakers?

Geelong

Race 1. (13:00) Bet365 Maiden Plate (2400m)

#12 – Nicstar @ $3 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Nicstar is getting close to breaking through after five placings from six starts and we’re sticking with her.

The filly by Zoustar was only 1.7 lengths behind the winner at Ballarat last start and getting back on the grass surface should help.

Barrier three is ideal and there has been solid betting support come her way.

Race 3. (14:00) Technosoft Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Bombastic Boy @ $7.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Bombastic Boy ran third on debut at Moe behind subsequent winner Maiori, so the form checks out.

The three-year-old gelding looks to have good scope and we’re surprised by the odds available for a progressive type.

We expect the odds to shorten on race day.

Race 4. (14:30) Sports Underwriting Maiden (1400m)

#13 – Cadazio @ $2.15 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

There has been strong money for Cadazio, who won a trial at Cranbourne by 2.8 lengths to prepare for this race.

The Price/Kent-trained son of Tarzino could hit the ground running and the betting support suggests as much. He opened at $2.40 and was backed immediately.

That is a good sign and we’re following the money.

Race 6. (15:30) Jai Roderick Memorial BM64 (1700m)

#6 – Frankie Two Angels @ $5 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Frankie Two Angels comes off a win at Sale and it couldn’t have come any easier. The 4.3-length win is a good sign and we’re sticking with him.

The four-year-old has form on wet tracks with two starts for two placings and that bodes well for this race.

The wide barrier won’t have an effect over this distance.

Scone

Race 1. (12:10) Scone Rugby Club C1 (1600m)

#2 – Diatonic @ $2.90 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Diatonic ran third on debut at Hawkesbury before winning at Scone by a nose last start.

The two-year-old son of Choisir showed good barrier speed when gripping on late, which is always a good sign.

The early betting support is ideal and he could shorten on race day.

Race 3. (13:20) A-Plus Contracting BM58 (1400m)

#2 – Hemsworth @ $4.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Hemsworth scored a win four back at Muswellbrook and he could get back to his best form on Friday.

The son of Reliable Man owns two wins and three placings from 10 starts, so he’s rarely too far away from the prize.

Money has come for him and the $4.50 could firm into around $4.

Race 5. (14:35) Martins Stock Haulage BM66 (1700m)

#1 – Scorched Land @ $3.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Scorched Land capped off consistent form with a win at Dubbo and the gelding has plenty of pace on his day.

The four-year-old is a five-time winner overall and now with his confidence levels rising, he could kick on with the job.

He gets the inside draw and weight off his back.

Race 6. (15:10) Gallagher Electrical BM58 (1100m)

#14 – Opal Ridge @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Looking to stay unbeaten is Opal Ridge, who won by 1.5 lengths on debut in fine style.

The Luke Pepper-trained filly had plenty of betting support on that occasion and she has been well-backed again.

It’s a good sign and we expect another tidy effort from the favourite.
