Friday Horse Racing Tips – Friday, July 1st 2022

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Friday at Geelong and Muswellbrook.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Friday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.

Tried our top rated bookmakers?

Race 2. (13:00) Eagles Rock Maiden (1347m)

#9 – Thalursian @ $2 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Thalursian ran second on debut at Geelong as the odds-on favourite and we like his chances of going one better.

The Caroline Jennings-trained three-year-old is paying slightly better than the $1.90 she paid on debut, so punters get value odds.

We expect those odds to firm on race day.

Race 3. (13:30) Bet365 Odds Protector Maiden (1447m)

#10 – Soho Queen @ $2.35 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Soho Queen paid a nice price when running second on debut at Bendigo and he can go on better on Friday.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained three-year-old paid $14 and she’s much shorter in the betting at $2.35, which is a good sign.

Getting the inside draw adds to her hopes.

Race 5. (14:30) The Ultima Hotel BM64 (1765m)

#8 – Colombe D’or @ $3.40 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Colombe D’or handled the heavy track on debut when winning at Geelong and having that experience could make the difference.

The three-year-old filly scored by a length as the $3.10 favourite and punters get slightly better odds this time around, which is ideal.

His price could firm to around $2.70 on race day.

Race 8. (16:00) The Ultima Hotel BM64 (1347m)

#10 – Vagrant @ $4 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Vagrant won by just under a length on debut at Swan Hill and she’s good enough to remain unbeaten.

The Mitchell Freedman-trained two-year-old is paying generous odds and that’s likely due to the wide draw, but it shouldn’t matter too much.

Take the odds available for a promising type.

Race 2. (12:50) Magic Millions Maiden Handicap (1450m)

#6 – Oakfield Redgum @ $3.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Oakfield Redgum hit the line impressively to finish third at Newcastle last start and she won’t take long to win a race.

The three-year-old filly by Dundeel is looking to cap off consecutive placings to start her career and the odds are worth taking.

$3.50 for a promising type is a price we’re happy to lock in.

Race 3. (13:25) Horsepower C1 Handicap (1280m)

#1 – Recommendation @ $1.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Recommendation won on debut at Gosford by 1.3 lengths and he’s an odds-on chance to remain unbeaten.

The two-year-old son of Shalaa paid $5 when winning on debut and he’s not facing an overly tough field second-up, hence the short odds.

Include him in horse racing multi bets.

Race 6. (15:20) The Royal Hotel BM66 (1280m)

#8 – Denetta @ $3.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Denetta comes off back-to-back wins at Dubbo and Hawkesbury and we fancy her chances of going for the three-peat.

The three-year-old filly scored by a nose at Hawkesbury last time out and that’s better form than most going around here.

Her odds have drifted since markets but opened but race day support wouldn’t surprise.

Race 7. (15:55) Godolphin C1 Handicap (1000m)

#2 – Alicia Roma @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Alicia Roma won on debut at Tamworth before adding back-to-back placings at Muswellbrook and Gosford.

There is plenty to like about that form going forward and she only needs luck from the wide draw, but she has good pace.

The odds are value and she’s another runner who could firm considerably on race day.
