Doomben horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:33) Tab Venue Mode Maiden (1660m)

#3 – Zipjak – Bet @ PlayUp

Zipjak went close at Toowoomba last time out and he could turn that result around and score.

The three-year-old gelding was a nose behind the winner and he handled the soft track conditions, so that’s a good sign.

His form is improving and it won’t take him long to win.

Race 2. (13:08) Sky Racing Maiden (1050m)

#8 – Barbary Royale – Bet @ PlayUp

Barbary Royale is a three-year-old filly who comes off a trial placing at Doomben and she could start her career with a bang.

The daughter of Whittington is bred to enjoy racing on rain-affected tracks and getting a 3kg claimer in the saddle helps.

Watch for any late betting support.

Race 3. (13:43) Robinson Nielson Legal Maiden (1350m)

#10 – Da Party Gal – Bet @ PlayUp

The three-year-old filly has been right around the mark and it won’t take her long to win a race.

She comes off an impressive second placing at Gold Coast where she hit the line nicely from the back of the field.

Getting the inside draw with 54.5kg on her back should see her run close.

Race 4. (14:18) Stradbroke Season on Sale C3 (1660m)

#7 – Eleuthera – Bet @ PlayUp

The four-year-old mare got the job done at Gold Coast last start and she’s good enough to kick on with it.

She handles wet tracks, and although her form over this distance hasn’t been ideal, it will feel like they’re running over longer distances in the wet.

Dropping to 52.5kg helps and we’re expecting a tidy effort.

Race 5. (14:53) Cascade C1 Handicap (1500m)

#5 – Uncle Russ – Bet @ PlayUp

Uncle Russ couldn’t have been more impressive when winning by 6.5 lengths on debut at Ipswich.

The three-year-old son of Adelaide paid $2.90 to win on debut, but he should be much shorter this time around.

He looks like one of the bets of the day at Doomben.

Race 6. (15:28) BRC Carnival Plus Membership BM65 (1200m)

#3 – Think Glory – Bet @ PlayUp

The four-year-old mare is better than a two-time winner and she could add to her winning tally on Wednesday.

She daughter of So You Think scored consecutive wins at Ipswich last preparation and she comes off two trial placings.

Getting the inside draw with an apprentice claim boosts her chances of success.

Race 7. (16:03) XXXX Dry BM70 (1350m)

#8 – Bold Performer – Bet @ PlayUp

Bold Performer is a former Kiwi runner who won at Cambridge before coming to the Gold Coast and running third.

His most recent run wasn’t ideal, but the son of Pentire has since won and placed at the trials, so he looks ready to go.

Betting could hold the key, so watch markets.

Race 8. (16:38) IPCQ BM65 (1200m)

#1 – La Amigo – Bet @ PlayUp

La Amigo owns four wins and three placings from nine career starts, so he doesn’t know how to run a bad race.

The four-year-old scored back-to-back wins to open this campaign before running second at Sunshine Coast.

He gets 2kg off his back and we would be surprised if the son of Squamosa wasn’t figuring in the finish once again.
