Taree

Race 1. (12:55) Horsepower C3 Handicap (1257m)

#2 – Luscinia @ $2.70 – Bet @ PlayUp

Luscinia won his first two starts before finishing seventh at Scone, but he’s better than that.

The three-year-old gelding was only 2.8 lengths behind the winner, so it wasn’t a poor run by any means, but his form prior was excellent.

We’re not worried about his drifting odds and punters should be confident.

Race 3. (14:10) Professionals Harrington BM58 (1007m)

#2 – Black Jacamar @ $2.70 – Bet @ PlayUp

The Kim Waugh-trained four-year-old is rarely too far away and she could hit back in fine style.

She owns two wins and three placings from six starts, including a win and a placing from two starts at Taree.

The daughter of Dream Ahead has been primed with a trial placing and getting 4kg off her back only helps her chances.

Race 5. (15:20) Wingham Cup Friday Maiden (1614m)

#11 – Topender @ $3.70 – Bet @ PlayUp

Topender has only two placings from seven starts but the Kris Lees-trained filly has plenty of upside.

The three-year-old daughter of Territories was only 1.7 lengths behind the winner last time out and anything close to that form should be good enough.

Having experience at this track helps and we’re in her camp.

Race 7. (16:35) How’s That House BM66 (1412m)

#2 – Mista Razzledazzle @ $3.80 – Bet @ PlayUp

Mista Razzledazzle was too good for them at Port Macquarie last time out and he could go back-to-back.

The four-year-old gelding only narrowly got the job done but the son of Contributer is always around the mark and this isn’t a strong field.

Punters get each-way odds and they’re worth snapping up.

Werribee

Race 1. (13:00) Global Turf Maiden (1100m)

#7 – Bella Babe @ $2.45 – Bet @ PlayUp

Bella Babe has looked good at the jumpouts and the betting suggests the two-year-old is ready to fire.

The Maher/Eustace-trained daughter of Invader also gets the inside draw, so there are plenty of things in her favour.

We expect more money to come for her on race day.

Race 2. (13:30) Sherriffs Transport Maiden (1100m)

#5 – Passive Aggressive @ $2.10 – Bet @ PlayUp

Passive Aggressive was too good for them at the trials and that could show up on race day.

The three-year-old filly scored the trial win over All About Eve and we expect that form to show up on Monday.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and she has been steadily backed throughout the week after opening at $2.80.

Race 5. (15:00) Tobin Brothers BM58 (2000m)

#2 – Kaituku @ $3.30 – Bet @ PlayUp

Kaituku is knocking on the door after back-to-back second placings and the latest came at Werribee.

The four-year-old son of Contributer owns a win and four placings from seven starts, so the form checks out and we’re confident of a big run.

After opening at $4, there have been good betting moves and that support could continue to come.

Race 7. (16:00) Spendthrift Australia BM58 (1000m)

#3 – I Am Ready @ $2.35 – Bet @ PlayUp

I Am Ready is ready to win another race after finishing second at Geelong last time out.

It followed a win at Ararat and anything close to that form should be good enough to contest for the win on Monday.

It’s not an easy field to beat but there is plenty of upside with this runner.
