Gold Coast horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:57) Red Boot Charity Event BM72 (1200m)

#9 – Rich Lister @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Rich Lister is a four-time winner from 12 starts and we like her chances to win the opening race.

The four-year-old loves the distance and she has handled wet tracks in the past, so she’ll have no problem with the soft surface.

Most of the early money has come for the favourite so put her on top.

Race 2. (12:33) Sky Racing BM72 (1200m)

#12 – Festival Prince @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Looking to extend his impressive winning streak to six is Festival Prince, who could fire fresh up.

The four-year-old gelding won five straight to end his last campaign, including a one-length victory last time out.

He rises in class, but he knows how to win and 3kg comes off his back.

Race 3. (13:12) Sea 90.9 Bianca BM75 (1800m)

#13 – Flensburg @ $9 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The five-year-old son of Reset scored at his only start at Gold Coast and he could get back to that form.

The Tony Gollan-trained is a four-time winner from 19 starts and he comes off a second placing at Sunshine Coast, which is a solid form guide.

Punters get odds worth snapping up.

Race 4. (13:48) Assured Moment Gold Coast Stakes (1800m)

#5 – Tamilaide @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tamilaide is gunning for his fourth consecutive win and we wouldn’t put it past the son of Adelaide.

The four-year-old won by a half-length at Toowoomba last start and we expect the form out of that race to hold up.

It could pay to stick with the form runner in the field.

Race 5. (14:28) Martin Collins Handicap (900m)

#3 – La Palmier @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

La Palmier has yet to finish worse than second from five fresh up starts, so he hits the ground running.

The Gollan-trained son of Spirit of Boom comes off a soft trial performance at Doomben and he should be fit and ready to fire.

We like his chances of winning and the odds appeal.

Race 6. (15:12) Aquis Jewel 2YO (1200m)

#5 – Shes’sgottheboom @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The two-year-old lives up to her name and she could remain unbeaten after three starts.

She won on debut by 3.3 lengths before winning at Toowoomba by 1.8 lengths, so the class is there and the short odds aren’t surprising.

Carrying 55kg is ideal and her odds could continue to shorten.

Race 7. (15:53) Tab Military Rose Plate (1100m)

#11 – Nicci Trix @ $8 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Nicci Trix is a four-time winner from 13 starts and she’s knocking on the door after three consecutive placings.

The four-year-old daughter of Nicconi gets in light with 55kg and that could be enough to see her winning at each-way odds.

Race 8. (16:32) Tab Jewel 3YO (1200m)

#2 – Prince of Boom @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Prince of Boom couldn’t have been more impressive when winning at Toowoomba last start and a repeat could be on the cards.

The three-year-old gelding scored by 2.5 lengths and with three wins from six starts, he’s a runner heading in the right direction.

$2.90 is a fair price and he could start much shorter.

Race 9. (17:16) Canadian Club Gold Jewel (1400m)

#4 – Ef Troop @ $10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Ef Troop won at Doomben two starts back and a repeat of that effort would take him close.

The six-year-old is a five-time winner who couldn’t quite get there last time out, but added fitness helps.

Punters get generous odds and they’re worth taking.
