Friday 15/07/22

6:00pm North Queensland Cowboys vs Cronulla Sharks @ Country Bank Stadium

The top four clash is set to excite as the North Queensland Cowboys have improved into second position on the NRL ladder.

They have been excellent, and although the Cronulla Sharks are also playing well, the Cowboys could be on another level.

Post-Origin availability plays its part but the Cowboys are our pick to close the gap between the Panthers at the top.

Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys @ $1.55 Bet @ Neds

7:55pm Parramatta Eels vs New Zealand Warriors @ CommBank Stadium

The New Zealand Warriors loved returning home but they’re immediately back on the road in a tough situation.

They face the Parramatta Eels, who are desperate to make their way back up the ladder. They have the potential to move into a top four position and beating the Warriors should be viable.

Apart from their homecoming win, not much is going the way of the New Zealanders, so take the Eels to win, but the Warriors are good enough to cover the large +15.5 spread.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors +15.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

3:00pm Sydney Roosters vs St George Dragons @ Central Coast Stadium

The Dragons looked to have their chance against the Brisbane Broncos last week but they failed to turn up in the second half.

It was a disappointing result after they were getting some momentum, so the Roosters could take advantage and get their season back on track.

It hasn’t been a good year so far for the Roosters, but with the playoffs approaching, we expect their form to improve.

Betting tip: Sydney Roosters –6.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

5:30pm Manly Sea Eagles vs Newcastle Knights @ 4 Pines Park

It has been an up and down year for the Manly Sea Eagles but they’re gripping onto a top eight spot.

They should enjoy playing the struggling Newcastle Knights, who are languishing in 12th spot after another inconsistent season.

We expect the Sea Eagles to be far too strong and they should score a comfortable double-figure victory.

Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles –8.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

7:35pm Gold Coast Titans vs Brisbane Broncos @ Cbus Super Stadium

The Brisbane Broncos showed their full range of skills when beating the Dragons on Sunday, despite not having many top-name players.

It was an encouraging performance from the Broncos and we thought they would be shorter in betting markets. The $1.37 is a value head-to-head price and the Titans aren’t good enough to stick with them.

We expect the Broncos to win and cover the 8.5 spread on Saturday night.

Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos –8.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

Sunday 17/07/22

2:00pm Wests Tigers vs Penrith Panthers @ CommBank Stadium

The Penrith Panthers are the best team in the competition and they should put up a big number on the Wests Tigers.

The Tigers are the worst team in the competition and we’re surprised by the bookmakers’ line of 12.5. We thought it would be somewhere in the realm of 20.5 points, so we’re locking in the Panthers to score a very easy win.

We would be surprised if the Tigers kept it close enough to make a game out of it.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers –12.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

4:05pm Melbourne Storm vs Canberra Raiders @ AAMI Park

It’s getting desperate for the Melbourne Storm after consecutive losses but we expect a bounce back effort against the Canberra Raiders.

Coach Craig Bellamy is at boiling point and the Storm players won’t want to lose another game. They could be without Brandon Smith and Cameron Munster, but they have more depth than most.

They could fire up against the Raiders, who haven’t been in excellent form.

Betting tip: Melbourne Storm –10.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

6:15pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs South Sydney Rabbitohs @ Accor Stadium

The Bulldogs won a couple of games in a row before losing their last game and we think they’ll lose another.

The Rabbitohs haven’t been at their best but they’re playing much better than the Bulldogs, so the current line of –10.5 is warranted.

It’s another firm favourite in Round 18 but they better teams should clean up.

Betting tip: South Sydney Rabbitohs –10.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds
