We have expert betting tips for NRL Round 21, which kicks off on Thursday with the Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos blockbuster.

There are eight games for punters to enjoy this week as we gear up for the important stages of the season, and there are some big games scheduled, including Raiders vs Panthers and Sea Eagles vs Eels.

7:50pm Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos @ SCG

The Sydney Roosters are playing excellent league after beating the Sea Eagles 20-10 last week, so this shapes as a massive contest.

Brisbane had been playing some of the best league in the competition before losing to the Wests Tigers. The Broncos might have been looking ahead to this game, so expect a much better performance.

We see value in the $2.15 odds and they’re worth backing.

Betting tip: Brisbane Broncos @ $2.15 Bet @ Neds

6:00pm Melbourne Storm vs Gold Coast Titans @ AAMI Park

The Melbourne Storm ended their losing streak against the Warriors last week and they’re set for another win against the lowly Titans.

Despite starting the season with top eight hopes, the Titans have regressed even further, if that was possible. They sit in last position and we don’t see that changing.

This should be a training run for the Storm and the –17.5 line might not be big enough.

Betting tip: Melbourne Storm –17.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

7:55pm Manly Sea Eagles vs Parramatta Eels @ 4 Pines Park

The Sea Eagles were short-handed last week against the Roosters but they did well to make it a contest.

With their players back in the mix this week, they could hold off Parramatta Eels, who defeated the Penrith Panthers for the second time this season last week.

Bookmakers are finding it tough to split them, and because of how inconsistent the Eels are, we’re going with the Sea Eagles.

Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles @ $1.80 Bet @ Neds

3:00pm South Sydney Rabbitohs vs New Zealand Warriors @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

The South Sydney Rabbitohs were going along nicely before losing 21-20 to the Cronulla Sharks last week, but it was still a good contest.

It’s a much better performance than what the New Zealand Warriors are showing, who lost another game to the Storm last week.

Giving the Warriors +16.5 is a fair margin, however, so we’re going with the Warriors to lose, but not by more than 17 points.

Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors +16.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

Rabbitohs by 16

5:30pm Canberra Raiders vs Penrith Panthers @ GIO Stadium

The Penrith Panthers looked set to win the minor premiership, but with Nathan Cleary suspended and Jarome Luai injured, a spanner has been thrown into the works.

It gives the Raiders, who are outside the top eight, an ideal chance to beat the table-topping Panthers and they should get it done.

Bookmakers have $2.05 to beat a Panthers team without their star halves pairing.

Betting tip: Canberra Raiders @ $2.05 Bet @ Neds

Raiders by 10

7:35pm Cronulla Sharks vs St George Dragons @ PointsBet Stadium

We were impressed with the Cronulla Sharks when beating the Rabbitohs and they should be far too good for the Dragons.

The Dragons have slipped down the ladder, and although they can pull off the odd upset, we don’t see it happening here.

Bookmakers have the Sharks at –9.5 and we expect a 12-point victory for the better team.

Betting tip: Cronulla Sharks –9.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

Sharks by 12

Sunday 7/08/22

2:00pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs North Queensland Cowboys @ Salter Oval

The Bulldogs have a newfound confidence and it could see them be competitive against the Cowboys. However, they haven’t been facing strong opposition.

Beating teams like the Knights isn’t hard, so when the Bulldogs square off against the Cowboys, it should prove much harder.

There is value with the Cowboys at the –6.5 line. Confidence is up for both teams, but the Cowboys are premiership contenders.

Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys –6.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

Cowboys by 10

4:05pm Wests Tigers vs Newcastle Knights @ Campbelltown Stadium

It was hard not to be impressed with the Tigers upset over the Brisbane Broncos last week and that form should continue.

Despite sitting behind the Knights on the ladder, the Tigers have much more upside and we think bookmakers are being generous.

Take the Tigers –4.5 and we think they do it comfortably.

Betting tip: Wests Tigers –4.5 @ $1.90 Bet @ Neds

Tigers by 12
