Randwick horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:10) Widden Kindergarten Stakes (1100m)

#1 – Semillion @ $4.20 – Bet @ Neds

Semillion won on debut at Moonee Valley before placing behind second behind Lofty Strike at Caulfield.

The colt by Shalaa then finished fifth behind Daumier at Caulfield, who runs in the Sires’ Produce later on the card.

It’s good form and he handles the sting out of the surface.

Race 2. (12:45) Fujitsu Carbine Club Stakes (1600m)

#2 – Jalmari @ $5.50 – Bet @ Neds

Jalmari scored three starts back at Nowra, but his best form came when finishing 3.8 lengths behind Just Folk and Ellsberg last start.

They are Doncaster Mile winning chances and he was making ground close to the line, so it’s a good run for his future.

Respect at this level and punters get each-way odds to enjoy.

Race 3. (13:20) Tab Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m)

#1 – Roots @ $6.50 – Bet @ Neds

Roots is a talented filly who could rebound from a disappointing last-start effort at Rosehill.

She finished sixth behind Mr Mozart in a tough Phar Lap Stakes, so she should find this slightly easier and the rise in distance helps.

McDonald takes over the riding and that’s a bonus.

Race 4. (13:55) Schweppes Chairman’s Quality (2600m)

#12 – Chalk Stream @ $3.90 – Bet @ Neds

Chalk Stream is a former UK runner who improved significantly to finish third behind No Compromise at Rosehill.

It was a step in the right direction for the four-time winner from Sea the Stars, who won over 2414 at Ascot last year.

The form checks out and we’re not surprised by the betting move. His odds could continue to firm throughout the week.

Race 5. (14:35) Newhaven Country Championships Final (1400m)

#2 – Far Too Easy @ $4.60 – Bet @ Neds

Far Too Easy is already a three-time winner this preparation and he is the deserving favourite.

The three-year-old son of All Too Hard won by a nose at Grafton last start and he has since run well in a trial at Scone.

He’s unbeaten in the wet and that adds to his appeal. It’s another good ride for McDonald, so that holds weight.

Race 10. (17:50) China Horse Club Bell Stakes (1200m)

#12 – Smirnova @ $13 – Bet @ Neds

Not much has gone right for Smirnova at her last two starts, so we’re prepared to give her another go.

The Hawkes-trained filly had no luck at Moonee Valley fresh up before covering ground at Rosehill. Her first three wins were top class, so the ability is there.

Getting in with only 54kg on her back is ideal and we’re happy with the $13 available. She represents value in the final race on the card.
