Randwick horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (13:25) Hyland Race Colours Maiden (1300m)

#9 – Waikiki @ $4.20 – Bet @ Bet365

Waikiki ran fourth on this track on debut and there is plenty of improvement left with the Chris Waller-trained runner.

The three-year-old daughter of Capitalist finished under a length behind the winner as a $26 chance and we’re not surprised by the shorter odds.

Having James McDonald in the saddle helps and the $4.20 could continue to firm throughout on race day.

Race 2. (14:00) Vinery Stallions BM72 (1550m)

#1 – Hameron @ $3.80 – Bet @ Bet365

Hameron showed plenty of ability during his first campaign, which included two wins and two second placings.

The five-year-old son of Night of Thunder ran second at Canterbury two starts back before winning at Gosford as the favourite.

We expect that form to stack up nicely and getting 3kg off his back is ideal. Dropping to 57kg makes the favourite tough to hold out.

Race 3. (14:35) Bowermans BM64 (2400m)

#6 – Auspicious Cloud @ $4.20 – Bet @ Bet365

Auspicious Cloud is already a two-time winner this preparation and she didn’t give the opposition a chance last time out.

The four-year-old daughter of American Pharoah scored by 4.3 lengths at Goulburn in heavy conditions and she should enjoy this track.

She has stayed rock-solid in betting markets and that’s a good sign.

Race 4. (15:10) Furphy BM64 (1550m)

#9 – Pretes @ $4.80 – Bet @ Bet365

Pretes couldn’t have been more impressive at Doomben when scoring by 5.3 lengths last time out and she’s good enough to go back-to-back.

The four-year-old daughter of Zoustar enjoyed the wet track conditions and she gets all favours in the run off the inside draw.

Having McDonald in the saddle is a bonus and punters get value odds.

Race 5. (15:45) Deloitte Financial BM72 (1000m)

#7 – Laurelin @ $2.35 – Bet @ Bet365

James Cummings lines up the four-year-old mare who could get back to her best form at Randwick.

The daughter of Lonhro is a past winner on this track before running behind the likes of Stoical and Curtis Island, which is solid form.

She also comes off a trial win at Warwick Farm and that explains the betting move from her opening quote of $2.80.

Race 6. (16:20) Ranvet BM72 (1300m)

#4 – Aeecee Express @ $4.40 – Bet @ Bet365

Aeecee Express scored back-to-back wins last preparation and he could get back to winning form here.

The Waterhouse/Bott-trained son of Savabeel ran a good third placing fresh up at Warwick Farm and there is improvement to come.

He won his only attempt at Randwick and punters get each-way odds to enjoy, so we’re backing him to win.

Race 7. (16:55) Tab BM64 (1100m)

#4 – Stromboli @ $3.30 – Bet @ Bet365

Stromboli ended his last preparation with a win at Ballarat and that form should stack up nicely in Sydney.

The son of Exceed and Excel also comes off a trial win at Rosehill when beating Duchy of Savoy, who is favoured to win at Sandown on Wednesday.

He opened at $4.80 and has firmed into $3.30, which is a sizable betting move.
