Sale

Race 1. (13:20) Vale John Duncan Maiden (1732m)

#9 – Savileo @ $2.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Savileo comes off a second placing at Cranbourne and we expect him to breakthrough very soon.

The Peter Moody-trained three-year-old doesn’t meet an overly tough field on Sunday and the early betting support is a good sign.

He is rock-solid at $2.20, so take the odds before they shorten.

Race 3. (14:30) Anderson’s Removals Maffra Maiden (1106m)

#14 – Smokin’ Holly @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Dale Short-trained three-year-old has run second twice this preparation and we like her chances of going one better.

She recorded her placings at Bairnsdale and Yarra Glen before going to Flemington and running fourth, so there is little wrong with that form.

The daughter of Exosphere isn’t facing any superstars and she should take advantage.

Race 6. (16:20) Gippsland Vet Hospital BM58 (1106m)

#5 – Crystal Chief @ $4 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The four-year-old has been running against tough fields and we think he should enjoy facing this level of opposition.

He didn’t fire up in two starts at Caulfield, but he went out for a much-needed spell and he could come back a stronger type.

Fresh up form reads well and we’re happy to take the $4.

Race 7. (16:55) Maffra Cup BM64 (1732m)

#4 – Designs @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Designs is the best horse in the race and we like her chances of getting back to winning form.

The Freedman-trained four-year-old won at Wangaratta two back before finishing fifth at Caulfield behind My Delight.

There is nothing wrong with city-class form on a Sunday and getting the inside barrier is ideal, so take the $2.60 available.

Murwillumbah

Race 1. (13:35) Team Thoroughbred NSW Maiden (1200m)

#2 – Ballistic Babe – Bet @ Sportsbet

Ballistic Babe is getting close to a win after two solid efforts to kick off her career.

The Edmonds-trained four-year-old finished fourth on debut before running fourth in similar conditions at Ballina.

The experience is key and we’re expecting her to break maidens soon.

Race 3. (14:45) Riverview Kingscliff BM74 (1550m)

#4 – Duke of Buckingham – Bet @ Sportsbet

Duke of Buckingham turned his form around when winning at Ballina and we like his chances of going back-to-back.

The four-year-old son of Street Boss is a three-time winner from 13 starts and he doesn’t mind the sting out of the surface.

He’s drawn to get every chance and punters should be confident.

Race 4. (15:20) Murwillumbah Golf Club Maiden (1550m)

#5 – Whodat – Bet @ Sportsbet

Whodat comes off a second placing at Doomben and that form stacks up nicely for this level of competition.

The four-year-old owns three second placings and having form at Doomben could set him apart from the opposition.

We expect bookmakers to have him right in the market and he shouldn’t take long to break maiden grades.

Race 5. (16:00) Tab It’s Treble Time BM66 (1200m)

#4 – Hamlet Von Snitzel – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hamlet Von Snitzel looked good winning back-to-back races last preparation and anything close to that form will be good enough.

The three-year-old son of Snitzel owns two wins and two placings from eight starts, so he’s a quality type that should be in the thick of it here.

Drawing barrier two helps and we fancy his chances.
