Sunday Horse Racing Tips – July 17th, 2022

We have expert betting tips for the cards this Sunday at Pakenham and Hawkesbury.

There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Sunday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.

Tried our top rated bookmakers?

Race 1. (12:05) Ecycle Solutions Maiden Hurdle (3200m)

#7 – Teofilo Star @ $3.30 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Teofilo Star scored a win Sandown three back and anything close to that run should be enough to win his maiden hurdle.

The four-year-old gelding owns two wins and four placings from eight starts, so his consistency is good and he makes his own luck.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and punters get fair odds.

Race 2. (12:45) PB Ronald Maiden Hurdle (3500m)

#7 – Slipintothis @ $2.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Slipintothis needs a confidence boost and it could come over the hurdles. The Patrick Payne-trained gelding looked good in a recent trial, which is a good sign.

He is a five-time winner from 22 starts, so the natural ability on the flat is there and he has experience on the track.

We wouldn’t be surprised if his odds shortened on race day.

Race 4. (14:05) Brendan Drechsler Hurdle (3500m)

#3 – Count Zero @ $3.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Count Zero didn’t fire at Warrnambool last time out but we’re prepared to forgive that effort.

The seven-year-old is a two-time winner over hurdles from four attempts and the son of Zed could upset favourite Saunter Boy.

The odds make him worth a play in the feature race of the day.

Race 6. (15:25) Ecycle Mosstrooper Steeplechase (3500m)

#4 – Runaway @ $3.30 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Runaway scored a win at Sale last time out and that was impressive enough to see him winning on Sunday.

The seven-year-old is a past winner at Pakenham and having that experience should take him a long way to winning.

He should push forward and try run them into the ground, so the $3.30 is a fair price.

Race 1. (12:00) Thank You Hawkesbury Ses Maiden (1800m)

#3 – Count on Me @ $2.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Count on Me is getting close to breaking through after three consecutive second placings.

The three-year-old son of Reliable Man comes off a second placing at Hawkesbury and he enjoyed the rise in distance.

Barrier two is ideal and his odds could firm to around $2 on race day.

Race 3. (13:20) Thank U All Emergency Services Maiden (1000m)

#9 – Starspangledancer @ $2.15 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The two-year-old filly showed nothing in her first trial but she won her most recent trial by over 12 lengths.

It was an effortless display and the $5,000 purchase could mature into a nice type as the betting markets suggest.

She’s an interesting runner and we’re in her camp for her debut run.

Race 5. (14:40) Tab Maiden Handicap (1300m)

#6 – Star Buyer @ $4.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Star Buyer looks to cap off consecutive placings with a win and he meets a field there for the taking.

The three-year-old gelding finished second at Newcastle by a half-length last start and he shouldn’t be worried about the heavy track conditions.

Punters get each-way odds and we’re snapping them up.

Race 8. (16:38) Richmond Club BM64 (1000m)

#6 – Alpha One @ $3.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Alpha One couldn’t have been more impressive when scoring at Newcastle last start and the colt has plenty of upside.

The two-year-old son of Super One showed good barrier speed before kicking away and he gets every chance off the inside draw.

The odds available are worth taking.
