Bendigo

Race 1. (13:00) BRB Electrical Maiden Plate (1400m)

#6 – Tapa Capall @ $2.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

David Brideoake lines up the two-year-old gelding who showed good speed on debut at Geelong.

The son of Fiorente was only a narrow margin behind the winner and rising from 1200m to 1400m only strengthens his chances.

Drawing barrier five helps and punters should expect a tidy effort.

Race 2. (13:35) Carlton Draught Maiden (1400m)

#9 – Belle Et Riche @ $2 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Belle Et Riche has placed in all three runs to date and it’s only a matter of time before she breaks through.

The three-year-old daughter of Rich Enuff almost got the chocolates last start at Stawell and a repeat of that effort should be good enough.

Most of the money has come for Belle Et Riche and it should continue.

Race 5. (15:15) The Big Screen Company BM64 (1000m)

#4 – Safe Secret @ $2.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Safe Secret enjoyed being gelded last start when scoring a maiden victory at Echuca by 3.8 lengths.

The three-year-old son of Lonhro paid short odds when winning and punters get a better price here, so he is worth following.

Drawing barrier two is ideal and we would be surprised if he wasn’t fighting out the finish.

Race 7. (16:15) Bendigo Mazda BM64 (1600m)

#5 – Michante @ $4 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Michante needed the fresh up run at Terang and she should be better for the fitness.

The four-year-old mare by Americain owns two wins and two placings from six starts, so she has class and she should be tough to hold out.

After opening at $4.20, she has been specked to win, so put her on top of your selections.

Sapphire Coast

Race 1. (12:55) Merrimbula RSL Maiden (1005m)

#4 – Areeba Spirit @ $2.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Areeba Spirit hasn’t won in 11 starts but the four-year-old mare gets her best chance on Sunday.

The daughter of Spirit of Boom comes off back-to-back second placings and she gets all favours off the inside draw.

Jockey Jack Martin should put her on the pace and kick strongly.

Race 3. (14:10) South Coast Cup BM58 (1605m)

#6 – The Chaplain @ $5 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The Chaplain owns only three wins from 42 starts but he has been running some nice races of late.

He comes off a second placing at Moruya in heavy conditions, so he doesn’t mind the sting out of the surface.

There isn’t much to beat in this field and he could take advantage at each-way odds.

Race 5. (15:29) Brand Fences BM58 (1405m)

#5 – The Deepest Secret @ $3.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The Deepest Secret showed ability when running second fresh up at Moruya and she could go one better on Sunday.

She owns two wins and five placings from 18 starts, including two placings at Sapphire Coast, so she handles the surface.

There isn’t much to this field and she could notch her third career win in fine style.

Race 6. (16:07) Tanthra Bowlo BM58 (1205m)

#4 – Wilful Spirit @ $4 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Wilful Spirit looked good when winning at Wagga earlier this preparation and she has since run two solid races.

The five-year-old comes off a third at Albury and her best form comes over this distance, so getting out to 1205m is ideal.

Punters get value odds at $4 and those odds could firm throughout the week.
