The Meadows Greyhound Racing Tips
Race 1. 6.29PM TAB 3-6 Wins Final Grade 5 – 525 metres
#4 Bag Secured – Bet @ Sportsbet
You’ll likely get a nice each-way price about this consistent chaser who’s been right around the money only losing to race favourite Storm Stroller in a strong effort last start.
Storm Stroller is a deserved favourite here but on a price basis happy to go with the four, an alley he’s won two races from to produce a big race.
Race 2. 6.48PM TAB Long May We Play Mixed 4/5 – 725 metres
#6 Drako Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet
Didn’t quite make the cut for the Group One feature staying event but he was in the mix for a reason, has been nothing but consistent since establishing himself as a front running stayer.
Should stick to his normal pattern in this race land in the first few and just keep chugging along at his own pace which should be good enough.
Race 3. 7.07PM TAB Australian Cup Special Event Prelim One – 525 metres
#1 Little Tiger – Bet @ Sportsbet
Is coming into his own at the right time for the upcoming carnival a winner his last two times out most notably setting a personal best going 30.11 leading all the way from box four last start.
If he brings those same box manners to this race looks the likely leader from the draw and although up in class will give them something to chase.
Race 4. 7.30PM TAB Australian Cup Special Event Prelim Two – 525 metres
#5 Gypsy Yankee – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looked all out a winner last week pinging from box seven in a race of similar stature, only grabbed right in the last bound, still managing to go 30.11 in the process.
Second run back at The Meadows will take confidence from that performance and has shown in the past he can be stronger and go quicker.
Race 5. 7.50PM TAB Zoom Top Group One – 725 metres
#2 Mepunga Ruby – Bet @ Sportsbet
Unlike some of these other well credentialled stayers resisted the lure to go on from her Sydney win and compete in the Group Three series in Queensland.
Instead she’s has a couple of weeks to settle in back home and freshen up for this race which should take her along way, is well drawn and in career best form, should add another Group One to the cabinet.
Race 6. 8.08PM TAB Rookie Rebel Group One – 600 metres
#2 McCooly’s Lad – Bet @ Sportsbet
This star chaser did go to Brisbane but that was for the Group Two Golden Sands over the six hundred metres where he was only bettered by the brilliant Jungle Deuce which he encounters against here.
It’s hard to tip against the favourite off his Group One form, but he’s had a long preparation and if McCooly’s Lad gets the fly it could be a bridge to far for The Deuce.
Race 7. 8.31PM TAB Australian Cup Special Event Prelim Three – 525 metres
#4 Tiberia Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has a penchant for turning up in races like this, won a heat of the Melbourne Cup and has been largely quiet since then, but this looks like a race he could strike.
Has a good chance of sitting second in the run behind Werina Express a bitch he’ll run down if he’s within a few lengths.
Race 8. 8.50PM TAB Temlee Group One – 525 metres
#1 Kinson Bale – Bet @ Sportsbet
The draw sets up perfectly for this chaser to taste maiden Group One success, he was around the mark in Queensland but through some tough draws didn’t make the final.
He’s back at home and gets box one while favoured runners Aston Rupee and Zipping Kyrgios will be jostling from boxes four and five, if he gets the sit behind Spotted Elk will look the winner.
Race 9. 9.13PM TAB Australian Cup Special Event Prelim Four – 525 metres
#2 Big Opal Rocks – Bet @ Sportsbet
You’re going to be seeing a lot of this dog in the future, he’s already made his mark with a Sandown Best of 29.38 after six career starts winning five of them and can make a splash here.
Gives away experience but he’s a born winner and could just find a way to outpoint the red dog to the first turn.
Race 10. 9.33PM Australian Cup Special Event Prelim Five – 525 metres
#8 Shima Jake – Bet @ Sportsbet
The draw isn’t ideal but he’s a dog used to running in this company and with a couple of crashers drawn inside him could see some daylight early.
Has gone 29.80 around here not that long ago and looks to be just approaching his prime as a chaser.
Race 11. 9.53PM TAB Venue Mode Free for All – 525 metres
#2 Fabriola Ximenez – Bet @ Sportsbet
Has been going huge of late mostly over the middle-distance jumping to the front and beating some dogs he wasn’t supposed to beat.
Maps really well to get the run of the race here, Qwara Bale should lead from one but has shown she’s vulnerable late.
Race 12. 10.15PM Sky Racing Active Grade 5 – 525 metres
#1 Westar Aileen – Bet @ Sportsbet
Can be a tease at times, runs plenty of minor placings but her strength in undeniable and always seems to find a few lengths when drawn box one.
She’ll rely on luck in the run but if she gets it she’s the strongest in this field.
