Wyong

Race 2. (12:55) HMA Instrumentation Maiden (1200m)

#1 – One Way Street @ $3.10 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

One Way Street hasn’t shown much in two runs this preparation but the four-year-old gelding could hit back.

The son of Super One kicked off his career with consecutive second placings at Wyong, so returning to this track could see it go his way.

Having Hugh Bowman in the saddle is ideal and punters should expect a tidy effort.

Race 4. (14:10) HMA Materials Handling Maiden (1600m)

#6 – Sneaky Island @ $3.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The Brad Widdup-trained filly has been threatening to win a race after posting two placings this preparation.

She comes off a close effort at Canberra where she finished second and there is nothing wrong with that form going forward.

After opening at $4.60, her odds have firmed and she could continue to firm on race day.

Race 5. (14:50) HMA Flow & Industrial C1 Handicap (1600m)

#3 – Duke of Gordon @ $2 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Duke of Gordon is seeking back-to-back wins after breaking maiden grades with a 1.5-length win last time out.

The John O’Shea-trained three-year-old now has winning experience at Wyong and that should make him tough to beat again.

Punters have come for the son of Dissident in early markets and we’re in his camp.

Race 7. (16:05) HMA Wear Solutions C1 Handicap (1200m)

#4 – Cushy @ $4.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Cushy doesn’t often show his best form fresh up but the three-year-old could have the talent edge on this field.

The son of Super Easy comes off two trial placings at Warwick Farm, which followed a win and a placing at Wyong, so he has track experience.

Punters get odds worth snapping up and he could be a big shortener on race day.

Pakenham

Race 1. (17:45) GG Engineering Maiden (1600m)

#3 – Dun Warrior @ $1.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Dun Warrior was the beaten short-priced favourite at Geelong last time out, but we like his chances of going one better.

The three-year-old son of Dundeel looked like he wanted more ground when running a length behind the winner and the mile suits perfectly.

Barrier five is ideal and he should be putting in the big bounds late.

Race 3. (18:45) Drouin & District Bank Maiden (1400m)

#1 – Ampere @ $2.05 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Ampere finished second on debut as the favourite but she shouldn’t have lost any admirers.

The Michael Kent-trained mare got too far back in the run and was forced to make up too much ground, so expect her to settle closer.

Getting the inside draw should ensure she settles closer.

Race 5. (19:45) Danielle Klyn on Sportsbets C2 (1200m)

#3 – Shines @ $3.30 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

The three-year-old son of Dream Ahead won on debut at Geelong and we like his chances of going back-to-back.

He won by a length as the $1.90 favourite and the form out of that race has since stacked up, so there is no reason to jump off his back.

$3.30 is well worth taking in an open betting affair.

Race 6. (20:15) Evergreen Turf BM64 (1600m)

#7 – Villaden @ $3.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Villaden has the class to get back to winning form and the son of Tavistock meets an even here on Thursday night.

The Chris Waller-trained gelding won at Benalla by 2.3 lengths before taking on the likes of Forgot You and Spirit of Gaylard in the city.

This is much easier and he demands attention.
