Race 2. (18:15) Tyreright Pakenham Maiden (1400m)

#4 – Bellsprout @ $2.25 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Bellsprout ran well for third on debut at Sandown and we like his chances to improve on that position.

The Cindy Alderson-trained three-year-old was a short margin behind Li’l Loft and he only needs luck from the wide barrier.

There have been solid betting moves for the favourite and he should be the one they have to beat.

Race 4. (19:15) O’Brien Real Estate Pakenham Maiden (1200m)

#7 – Is This Love @ $2.35 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Is This Love has three second placings from three starts, so the three-year-old filly is getting close to breaking through.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained daughter of Redoute’s Choice was close at Bendigo last time out and she fought gamely to the line.

Barrier 14 makes it harder, but she could head forward and try to hold them off.

Race 5. (19:45) Tom McKinnon on Sportsbet BM64 (1400m)

#6 – Miss Jennifer @ $2.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Miss Jennifer couldn’t have been more impressive when winning on debut at Pakenham, so we’re sticking with her.

The daughter of Sacred Falls showed a nice turn-of-foot to score by 2.8 lengths, which is an excellent sign going forward.

Drawing barrier two is ideal and punters get fair odds.

Race 7. (20:45) Sportsbet Bet with Mates BM64 (1600m)

#1 – Wailua @ $4.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Wailua already owns two wins from three starts and punters got a good price last time out.

The four-year-old paid $10 to win last time out and we’re not surprised he’s shorter with bookmakers this time around.

Sticking to the mile is ideal after not handling the rise in class two back, so he is our top pick for an even betting race.

Race 1. (12:55) Canadian Club Maiden Plate (1350m)

#8 – Shohei @ $1.85 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Shohei didn’t do much wrong when running second on debut at Newcastle and she could go one better.

The three-year-old filly is a Japanese-bred runner who finished a length behind Sabino, which is an excellent form guide.

Punters will have to take short odds, but she’s worth having on the ticket.

Race 4. (14:50) Tab Maiden Plate (2000m)

#3 – Sky Ace @ $3.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Sky Ace is getting close to posting a win after back-to-back placings at Canberra and Queanbeyan, so he’s worth sticking with.

The Brad Widdup-trained three-year-old runs his best races over the longer distances and he was only a half-length behind the winner last start.

Getting the inside draw helps and punters should be confident.

Race 5. (15:25) Coca-Cola C1 Handicap (1600m)

#6 – Thousand Years @ $2.35 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Thousand Years is a well-bred daughter of Dundeel who scored at Kembla Grange two back before placing last start.

The Snowden-trained filly was only 2.3 lengths behind Cross the Rubicon, which is a nice type and that form stacks up nicely.

Getting the inside draw is ideal and we’re expecting another top effort.

Race 7. (16:40) Wyong’s Next Meeting BM68 (1100m)

#1 – Different Strokes @ $3.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Different Strokes owns three wins and three placings from eight starts, so he must be respected at this level.

The Kim Waugh-trained gelding is unbeaten in two starts at Wyong and getting 3kg off his back brings him into contention.

It’s no surprise to see to see his odds firming considerably throughout the week.
