We have expert betting tips for the cards this Tuesday at Canterbury and Cranbourne.
There is plenty of value available with bookmakers at the Thursday meetings and we have our best bets across the cards.

Race 2. (13:25) Bowermans Maiden Plate (1100m)
#5 – Roma Avenue @ $3 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Roma Avenue owns three placings from three starts and the three-year-old shouldn’t take long to get off the mark.
The Mark Newnham-trained son of Star Witness ran third behind Cotton Fingers at Canterbury last start and a repeat of that takes him close.
He handles wet tracks, so the extremely heavy track won’t worry him.
Race 4. (14:40) Earthlight @ Darley BM72 (1100m)
#4 – Quatenus @ $4.60 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
The James Cummings-trained four-year-old owns three wins and four placings from eight starts, so she doesn’t know how to run a bad race.
She comes off a sixth at Rosehill behind some smart types and getting the inside draw could help her switch on nicely.
We’re happy with the odds available and she demands attention.
Race 5. (15:20) Vinery Yearlings BM72 (1250m)
#2 – Snitzonfire @ $2.80 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Snitzonfire comes off a fifth at Canterbury and his form typically improves with a run under his belt.
The three-year-old gelding won at his only second-up attempt and his odds have firmed considerably since markets opened.
His opening odds of $4.40 were snapped up and we expect him to push forward and be tough to run down in the straight.
Race 7. (16:35) Tab BM72 (1250m)
#7 – Riduna @ $4 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Riduna scored an effortless three-length win at Newcastle last start and the daughter of Fastnet Rock looks better than most in this field.
The three-year-old has yet to win in heavy conditions but she owns two wins on soft tracks, so the moisture isn’t a big deal.
Punters get each-way odds for the favourite and they’re worth taking.
Race 1. (13:00) Ladbroke It Maiden (1200m)
#5 – River Ribble @ $2.35 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
River Ribble ran second on debut at Pakenham before taking on a tough field at Caulfield behind Lofty Strike.
The two-year-old colt didn’t quite handle Group 3 class but dropping to maiden level is right up his alley, so punters should expect a better showing.
His odds are shortening and that’s not surprising. He could start around $2.
Race 3. (14:00) Vale Ken Casson Maiden (1600m)
#11 – Indy Rose Warrior @ $3.90 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Indy Rose Warrior should have won a race by now but we’re sticking with the three-year-old filly.
The Busuttin/Young-trained daughter of El Roca finished second at Donald last start as the $1.95 favourite, so punters get better odds here.
We expect her to be right around the pace and breakthrough at start nine.
Race 5. (15:00) RMBL Invests Rising Stars BM64 (1500m)
#4 – The Problem With @ $3.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
The Problem With comes off a win at Donald by a half-length and he’s good enough to win back-to-back races.
He showed good barrier speed and he handled the soft conditions well, so we’re expecting another top effort.
Punters get odds worth taking and they could shorten on race day.
Race 7. (16:00) Frankston Sand Soil BM64 (1000m)
#2 – Brownie @ $7 – Bet @ Ladbrokes
Brownie has run three consecutive fifth placings but she’s good enough to turn that form around.
The Maher/Eustace-trained four-year-old owns three wins from nine starts and we expect her to return to winning form soon.
The $7 odds are well worth snapping up as they should firm.
