Geelong

Race 2. (14:00) Apco Services Stations Maiden (1406m)

#10 – Zounile @ $3.20 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Zounile comes off back-to-back placings and the three-year-old filly looks like a good chance of breaking through.

The filly by Zoustar ran second on debut at Pakenham before improving to run second at Geelong, so the form checks out and this isn’t a strong maiden field.

Barrier four is ideal and the odds appeal.

Race 3. (14:30) McGrath Estate Agents Maiden (1406m)

#10 – Robert the Puss @ $2.45 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Robert the Puss is looking to cap off three consecutive placings with a win and he doesn’t get a better chance.

The three-year-old son of Bobby’s Kitten comes off a tidy second placing at Geelong behind Kaliuwaa Falls, which is a nice type.

He has drawn ideally and punters should be confident.

Race 5. (15:30) The Ultima Hotel BM70 (2409m)

#5 – Fine Weather @ $3.70 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Fine Weather is already a two-time winner this preparation and he is always tough to beat.

The four-year-old likes to control the pace and that worked narrowly at Mornington last start, so expect similar tactics.

Finding the front from barrier two shouldn’t be hard and there have been solid betting moves for the favourite.

Race 8. (17:00) Taxi Network Geelong BM64 (1306m)

#3 – Jack of It @ $5.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Jack of It comes off a win at Kilmore and we fancy his chances of kicking on with it this preparation.

The four-year-old scored by a length in lower grades, and although he faces more depth in this field, he hasn’t done much wrong.

Having fitness on his side helps and we’re prepared to take the each-way odds.

Coffs Harbour

Race 2. (13:20) John Sleeman Memorial C1 Handicap (1012m)

#2 – Zoom Outcome @ $2.40 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Zoom Outcome scored by 3.5 lengths at Port Macquarie last start and there is no reason why he can’t kick on with it.

The four-year-old handled the wet track and scoring by that margin over such a short distance isn’t easy to do.

He opened at $3 and has firmed into $2.40, so the betting support is there.

Race 3. (13:55) Bruce Hopkins Memorial C3 (1615m)

#2 – McNair @ $2.05 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

McNair hasn’t shown much consistency of late but the four-year-old son of Sidestep is talented at his best.

The Allan Denham-trained runner showed his pace when winning at Port Macquarie three back before facing harder fields at Newcastle and Scone.

He won his only start at Coffs Harbour and he could remain unbeaten.

Race 5. (15:10) Jim Browning Memorial Maiden (810m)

#1 – Bow @ $2.05 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Bow is threatening to win after placing in both career starts to date. He drops in distance to 810m, but he has shown speed so far.

The three-year-old son of Bel Esprit hit the line nicely at Gosford and there has been solid betting support this time around, which is a good sign.

2kg comes off his back and we expect money to come for him on race day.

Race 7. (16:20) Kevin Bellamy Memorial Maiden (1315m)

#2 – Ballistic Babe @ $7.50 – Bet @ Ladbrokes

Ballistic Babe hasn’t lived up to expectations so far but there is ability in the legs of the Smart Missile mare.

The four-year-old has been facing tough maiden fields in Queensland and she should find this more to her liking.

Punters get value odds and they’re worth taking.
